I thought it was nice, for some I am sure it will be a cherished item. My friend is begging me for mine. I told him to look on E-bay and he told me... one person is selling 3? WTF? I suspect its a 😛h34r: .

I received the "Red Tail" a few days ago.

I showed it to some neighbors and explained it was a piece of a 747 tail made into appreciation gifts...begging for it was an under estimate! one pleaded for it!

i thought for sure you would have wiped your buttocks with yours

My entire station received (or will receive) theirs today. They came in two big boxes, and then were doled out to individuals...

I'm no fool but, I actually thought it was nice. I admit there have been challenging times with this company but, why not admit when they actually have done something nice? But, I will vote for a contract!

I thought this was Tech Ops' brainchild, and not management's?

Nevertheless, it's pretty cool.

I would love to get my hands on one of them! I was on eBay and was checking them out. I was wondering what the dimensions were or at least a guestimate? thanks.

Yeah Kev it was a "tech ops' brainchild. AKA SCABS....Most of them have a lousy 3 yrs with the company and think they are a part of the history of nwa? At the expense of people who really had some time and history with this company. The tech ops scabs can shove those red tails you know where.

Personally, I do not see how people handle it. When UA hired exEAL scabs, I was livid to the point the Steward had to have a ‘private talk’ with me (once or twice… 😛). True, I still had to work beside these vermin, but that was about it. The ones that didn’t weasel their way into a management position eventually quit. Doing your job (usually) takes team work and if a member of the ‘team’ does not fit in, then the work takes longer if accomplished at all.

Conversely, I could not imagine being one of the few ‘Honorable’ working with a majority of scabs. Even those scabs being people that you have worked with most of your time with the company, sometimes thought of as ‘friend’. It must really suck; I know it would for me.

I hear you.

It might sound cheesy, but for me it represents *all* of the memories I have of this place; good, bad, ugly, etc. I've met a lot of people in my time, and had a lot of experiences-good and bad- that I wouldn't trade for anything. That includes working with honorable AMT's (good), and replacements (bad).

Okay, maybe having to be around the latter could go, but you get my point...

It wasn't easy. I was very glad to transfer to a city that had never had AMT's on the property.

I was hauled in a couple of times myself....

Even now, I don't like it when they come on road trips; it's very easy to tell who was hired in 2005...

I hear ya Kev... Would have been nice to work with ya if i could have..I see it from your point but of course I can't help myself being the smart### that i am. I hope all goes well for you guys. It would have been nice to non-rev to all those new places with the combined carrier. If you can get on anymore with the loads. I missed the retirement flight bennies by one yr. Under the age 60 rule age+yrs of service I came up 59. 42 yrs old and 17 yrs sen. ..Oh and in another bright moment for me under my new employer Fedx as of Jan 1st I am taking a 5 percent cut in pay (permanent) plus loss of merit raise 3.5 percent and 401k match for all of 09. So here we go again. I get hired at a company who has never cut pay (except maybe when they started 35 yrs ago). I just made 3 yrs here and they are in my pocket as if I hadn't had enough of that at the red tail. But if it saves jobs and helps the company stay viable I am ok with it. Unfortunately in my past it has never worked so you can say it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. But on the plus side I still have a great job and still far exceed my pay at nwa and I still feel fortunate it's just that I am getting tired and weary and seems like I can never get ahead. Ok rant over. Have a happy holiday Kev to you and your family and stay warm up there..LOL
