Great post with lots of snappy comments, facts and numbers to impress us all....you must be in Tempe management because it's an attitude like yours that ONLY looks at facts and says "business is business" which makes employees hate to work for US and passengers hate to fly US. You obviously have not read the post about the pax who connected through PHL and were treated like dirt....
Nothing could be further from the truth, Miss. I am
not in management in Tempe. I am a Purser for United,
and I also happen to be an Aviation Management major in school. I was merely trying get those posters such as yourself to take the emotional charge that you seem to have with regard to PIT closing and rather look at things from the perspective of what management's goal is...
IN ANY COMPANY...which is to optimize its limited resources in order to yield the greatest return to the bottom line. Trust me, as a former US employee, I am fully aware of all of the downsides of the PHL operation, yet according to the numbers, in spite of all of its operational deficiencies, PHL continues to be a
CASH COW for your company. I was merely responding to the OP's question about why people had such strong opinions, and from your response, you're letting
emotion interfere with
reason. And you're correct. Business analysts tend to look only at the facts. That is their job. If the data suggests that PIT is a detriment to profit maximization, then it is their job to report those
FACTS to upper management so that they can take corrective action. You seem unwilling to adapt to the only constant that there is in life, and that is
change. Your reaction to my posting proves EMBFA's point exactly. And one more thing: You must not hate US
that badly, because you continue to
choose working there...
