Why is US charging $1 for bottled water and $2 for Coke?

My hotel is charging $2 for pepsi and bottled water from the vending machine down the hall. Oh the Horror!
As an "elite" at starwood and hilton I get free bottled water and soft drinks.US has not figured out the importance of frequent travelers. Heck, even WN gives me a free cocktail when I buy a business select ticket as well as bonus points. Keep crapping on your best customers. You'll help your competitors by giving those people a better option.

How is the wine selection?

I bet CO has a better choice/choices.

I have no idea. I drank Vodka & Tonic--with a green lime. I'm sure CO does have a better selection of wine, but not certain--only my guess. And, on a long haul, I will stick with CO or AA, or UA.

Don't be so darn jealous of WN just because they are providing more value for their fares than ever (e.g., Business Select) while US continues to nickel and dime its premium customers and what's-left-of-the-loyal-customer base. You guys lose on both levels. US is an embarrassment whether competing against the LCC's or the Legacies.

We don't deserve anything, we're just freeloaders...

Aren't the drinks in first class free anyway? Aren't the upgrades free? Do you guys really want a drink that bad? Come to Wendy's first and I'll spike your frosty. We'll take the edge off together.

I aim to please.
