So be it, maybe it will teach you and your other so called executives to actually offer a realistic deal instead of demands.

You seem to forget your boss Lakefield did not take a paycut, leadership starts at the top and he has failed.

. . . take the generous buyout package and pursue another occupation.

The creditors will pull the plug ASAP if any union on property decides to strike. An immediate liquidation of the company will take place and every employee will be without a job...no severance, flight benefits, etc.

Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah. . . Threats and intimidation. I would almost like them NOT to take it just to see them (YOU) back down and eat your words. No serverence, no flight benefits etc. What about YOU, no benefits, no flights for you either 😛h34r:

What bothers me is that this is not even the final T/A but yet you have some fellow CWA members that will jump on anything to get the hell out of here. This is one reason why I wish that NO information would come out until the complete T/A is done. Stuff like this is more harmful than benificial. Those who posted would take the deal as it is are doing nothing more than self interest and doing a damn good job at stroking management's ego. If this is the final copy we have those who posted that they WANT WANT WANT and could give a damn on what happens to those that are left behind to thank. Would strongly recommend that those who are only thinking about themselves understand what the function of a union is...IT IS NOT JUST ABOUT YOU IT IS ABOUT ALL OF US. I do also apologize to those who this post might offend, but it is painfully obvious that some JUST DO NOT GET IT!!!!! B4 you begin to flame me which I am sure will happen I for one am not a so called "company person" or a "hardline labor person". I also fall in to the catagory of 15 plus years of service. I am a person that is concerned for the well being of those who elect to stay or have no choice for the buyout and have to stay. I WILL NOT VOTE YES UNLESS THOSE HOW REMAIN BEHIND ARE GOING TO BE TAKEN CARE OF...PERIOD!!!!!! I also am amazed at the "new" posters on this thread. One can assume the chance that these are not members of the CWA group and are coming from elsewhere and does anyone want to take a guess where they could be from???? And what makes you all so damn sure that it is going to be PIT res closing???? Has the company came out and said which office is going to close???? Did I miss something???? For those that want to jump on the offer as it stands IMO are just like management and you can take that anyway you want because I do not care. It is painfully obvious that YOU do not care. Wait until the final T/A is done instead of being vultures grabbing at scraps. Let CWA do the job that we are paying them to do. Sorry if this post comes across to a few as offensive, but sometimes the truth does hurt. Flame away all you self centered CWA members if you must.

I'm with you 700.....if Zeus and Hawk were voting to outsource
their own jobs, they would not go along without a fight.

Let the bargaining continue....
take the furlough package out of the proposal....take out the outsourcing
and let us begin again in a fair and equitable manner.

Obviously the company doesn't want the judge to force the issue.

If the AFA and IAM proposals are as bad as the CWA's, the possibility of a strike
is very real.

or you how about you? ... give me 4 and I'll give you back 5?

maybe there are some people out there rather see this company fail, and bring some ethics back to the business word. Here's some things that I picked up on while in college. "A happy employee is a productive employee" or "how about lead by example" or better yet "labor is a reflection of management"

The PR of the company is going down the tubes. The people are with us, the passengers are with us. It doesnt matter if you have Seth running around or Alan answer the phone. People in the USA hate when jobs are shipped oversea's. The more you see in the news .... the more the public can see how unfair and evil this company can be. Lead by example! Dont ask the least paid to give up the most when no one from the top will give up anything. You want to keep this company "financially solvent for years to come" .... then put your money where your mouth is!!!! Its easy to take it from someone else. US Airways? how about Outsource Airways.... What does the US stand for anyways? I know its not United States

I am not a member of this union but I would vote yes if I had the opportunity for a buyout package. This is a very attractive offer from the company. Time is of the essence for your group and the remaining two unions. The hardliners (Pitbull and 700UW) should end their stubbornness and sign on to the company proposals. The readers of this forum should contact their respected labor leaders advising that you want to express your rights by voting on a tentative agreement.

Your point is valid. Put pressure on the leaders to reach a t/a.

The only valid point from Zeus is that he/she is NOT A MEMBER OF THIS UNION.........

I also am amazed at the "new" posters on this thread. One can assume the chance that these are not members of the CWA group and are coming from elsewhere and does anyone want to take a guess where they could be from????

I'm a new poster and I work in INTRES where 90% of my phone calls are requiring help with the website, but due to the fact that we in res do not have access to the website, we must refer them to .com who does have access and can assist them with navigation, making a reservation or help the customer reissue on line. So, I don't care what you call it, outsourcing has begun and there is nothing you or I or the union can do to stop it. VTO is being given out in record numbers so they can see the impact of operating with a lot fewer agents. THE WRITING IS ON THE WALL. My voting no WILL NOT STOP OUTSOURCING. Now that medical is taken from the retirees all that is left is flight benefits which I'll get in the buyout plus 20k which is a bonus and huge incentive for me to leave. Unemployment is determined on a case by case basis, so you don't know if you get it until you apply. This I know for a fact.

Vote yes and lets all move on.

I've never understood the VTO thing. If you are constantly requesting and being granted VTO, aren't you sending a signal to a bean counter somewhere that your job (or job equivilant) is not really needed. Thus leading to additional furloughs. Aren't you shooting yourself in the foot if you continue to request VTO?

So what you are telling me indigo girl is that you are willing to screw the ones that are left behind whether it be willingly or unwillingly??? I like you are fed up with what is going on, but refuse to screw those left behind. You are willing to grasp at the carrot dangling in front of you instead of waiting for the full meal. THERE IS NOT ANY OUTSOURCING GOING ON AT THIS TIME and the reason for the VTO even though calls are there is to save money. NOT OUTSOURCING. Vto is being given based on the sales calls numbers. Amazing what one finds out when they ask the right person. And I would strongly suggest that you contact NC Unemployment office....you might be shocked what you are told about taken the buy out.

.......
Strange you say that. I sent IAM141 an email last week, expressing my feelings about all but 7 cities being made mainline express....and that if this was part of any proposal my vote would be NO. Maybe everybody should email their union with their feelings?

Screw the ones left behind or screw the ones who want to move on. Everyone in res is getting screwed so why not at this point look out for yourself. Everyone has a choice to stay or go, so if someone wants to stay behind and stick it out good for them. But I'm gonna take what I can get.
The outsourcing hasn't begun yet, but Reservations training is there right now, and CARE has been put on all their computers. They will start training soon if they haven't already. It's happening, contract or court. Forget about what everyone else is going to do, just worry about you, your resume and your financial situation. That'll tell you how to vote.

I cannot believe that many people actually voted YES that they would accept that proposal. That is amazing to me!!!!!

I think there is a certain poster who has multiple screen names (often used to demonstrate widespread agreement to their positions) and it seem that certain poster may be spoiling the results! 😀

Somebody else uses the term 'valid' instead of "i agree." Interesting coincidence?
