To me it's funny because comparatively (to the old aa) all those numbers are abysmal and theres the new owners celebrating whatvwouldve been considered a fail back then.....sad...

Which airlines are ranked highest and lowest?

All airline evaluations were made on the basis of 2018 performance, and Delta came out slightly ahead of the pack.

1. Delta

2. JetBlue

3. Southwest

4. Alaska

5. Hawaiian

6. United

7. Spirit

8. American

9. Frontier

Should I use this report as a guide when choosing airlines?

Let’s say that safety is a given (and air travel is still “the safest mode of transportation in the world” according to the 60,000-member Air Line Pilots Association). So, you could use the Airline Quality Rating as a general guide, but first, ask yourself these three questions about carriers you’re interested in:

Can Someone tell the 514 pres. he is an idiot for using safety as a bargaining chip.

A letter published in the Local paper.I do not have but waiting on someone from Tulsa to post it.

Now you like Tulsa? You’ve told me you can’t stand us which is it sweetie

Please share the post where I said I couldn’t stand TUL.

I know I’ve wrote about the stipend issue for high COL Cities and that TUL should have voted in favor (And didn’t)

President Dale Danker’s “Dear Tulsa Citizens” April 17th Letter in the Tulsa World

Dear Tulsa Citizens

The Transport Workers Union of America Local 514 (Tulsa workers) in conjunction with the TWU/IAM Association (representing 30k workers nationwide) have been in contract negotiations with American Airlines since Dec 3rd, 2015. It has become clear that what was once thought of as a good idea to merge American Airlines with US Airways has now become an unwelcome reality.

American Airlines has been doing much of its own maintenance in Tulsa dating back to 1946. For decades American has been one of Oklahoma’s largest employers. That trend started shifting after 911 and continues to this day. American, United, Delta and Southwest Airlines started outsourcing USA jobs to low cost foreign maintenance facilities all the while growing the CEO’s salary for participating in this unsafe practice. In our current contract negotiations, American has made clear their intent is to offshore even more JOBS through attrition. American says they will promise current workers a job till they retire but will not replace them so that our sons and daughters can look forward to a career in aviation here in Tulsa. The union workers have made great scarifies to keep American Airlines jobs in Tulsa and to keep the safety of its aircraft second to none. Aircraft worked on inside the USA is inherently safer with far greater FAA oversight. If you get on a major airline to fly for business or pleasure that aircraft has been worked on by mechanics in places like El Salvador, Brazil and China. Unfortunately, these days it is not uncommon to turn the news on and hear of a fatality Airline crash. Safety should always be THE Number #1 Priority.

For historical purposes, American’s Tulsa Base had approximately 7300 workers back in 2003. As the outsourcing continues to grow, the Tulsa Base has reduced its workers down to approximately 4200. Will American Airlines stay in Tulsa after we retiree? Currently our average age is 58 years old. Most Union aviation contracts are for 5 years. Will they stay in Tulsa or leave?

Safe Airline travel should be every citizens Number 1 priority when they or a loved one flies.

Maybe Delta being #1 and having the fewest number of unionized employees isn't coincidence.
Customer service industries and unions usually do not make for a good mix.

Delta would likely have Employees who are ver subservient to making sure the operation ran like a well oiled Machine I suspect.

They absolutely do have a far greater ability to distribute punishments on their workers than Unionized carriers would.

Hey everyone. Im not sure if this has been covered since it's been awhile I've been on here but at my station in IAH AA mechanics will be here around May confirmed by one of our mechanic trainers and internal and external communications. The number is debatable but it's sizeable. As you know it's highly unlikely they will have mechanics and no ramp. That has also been slated for May of 2020. That hasnt been posted but came from a manager who confirmed it with higher ups. 6 flights to LGA finally out of Houston next February on a Airbus 321 I believe.
AA fell so far behind it's competition in offerings outside of the hubs, it is comical. They had to do something. Not sure what will happen to Envoy their but hopefully they will transition most. I've already left and went next door to United.Didnt want to go but the slow pace of advancement in opening up again was taking way too long. Oh by the way the amount of gates should go between 8-11. They may run a split operation for Envoy/AA but it's unlikely. This also means AA may get cargo back there if they don't let Envoy run it. Strange station indeed. I'm glad I've made the move. UA isn't playing as you can see from the 2nd quarter financials.

Hey Colonel:

Very nice to read an update from you. Thanks for the information on Fleet. They did put out the information for Maintenance yesterday on Jetnet.

I think you probably made the best move going over to UAL and leaving Envoy. It’s likely if they do restaff IAH the positions will be filled easily by Mainline transfers.

Remember HUGE DFW is right down the road.

Thank you Weas. I remember you and the other guys telling me it was the most prudent thing to do. I hope some do get on AA. I think they rather keep the hire date but start whoever they keep at the starting rate as a new hire. If they bring in more than 10% of transfers and recalls, they likely will have a higher budget if 10+year guys and gals already topped out fill the ranks. That way they save money on payroll. Hell they barely want to pay you guys now which is deplorable.

Maybe. But I think it’s more that they’ve figured out how to get/keep employees vested in the operation’s success. Sure, some of that is things like free food and profit sharing, but when a team is doing well, people also generally try and keep it going that way.

We used to staff IAH before the BK and I think it was one of the Stations that closed to us in 2012 so all of those people would still have recall rights (10 years)

The only shot I think some of your friends would have would be if many of those people got used to being FT in other locations and wouldn’t want to go back to PT?

That would create some spots but not many.

So are you past probation at UAL yet?
