There has not been a main organizers conf. call in two weeks, I heard maybe today, but cards from my understanding are still coming in at what rate ?????

I have been told that AMFA National is/has taken over the web site and is supposed to update as well put information there as well. Now when that will happen is on them since they are doing it and we don't have control over that.

I was also told the letter that AMFA National sent the employees of AA stating they are now in this will also be posted there.

Let's HOPE we can do a dual signing, Spirit & AA Joining AMFA's ranks...

I too was glad to see AMFA National getting involved. We may not hear anything until AMFA declares a vote is due. May also be why they took over the website as well. We could possibly get some sort of an update once the National officers election is done, in hopes they all stay in that are currently in now. We darn sure don't need no new "drama queens" coming in to stir the pot.
Look forward to reading that letter going to the AA employees.

I can assure you the SWA mechanics ARE NOT calling the TWU, IAM, IBT or any other industrial union trying to get out of AMFA. This is false all the way. Yes we have in the past has both the TWU (twice) try to collect cards after AMFA fires the teamsters in a record 2 week card drive, and also had the teamsters trying to come right back in (3 times) after AMFA took over. And when the nego's between the SWA and AirTran mechanics for a single contract were ongoing they tried again for the 3rd time with threats, thugs showing up on peoples doorsteps yelling and screaming forcing spouses to call the authorities for them to be removed, NOT gonna happen, period.

On the second issue you posted that is also wrong. AMFA has a very strong presence in DC. And trust me if our Pilots union was there so was AMFA as they are in the same local building and agree to do all things with employees together. Just because some idiot doesn't plaster the AMFA name (and BTW, that could be at AMFA National's choice) with all the other unions because they may still have a bad taste for AMFA's Class and Craft ONLY union that represents the SWA mechanics, doesn't mean they are not there. AMFA Supports Proposed Legislation Creating a National Center for the Advancement of Aviation
February 28, 2020 -- Legislation was recently introduced in the Senate that would stand up a National Center for the Advancement of Aviation (NCAA). Senator Inhofe (R-OK) and Senator Duckworth (D-IL) proposed this NCAA in S.3360 with the purpose of focusing on four areas: aviation and aerospace STEM curriculum; workforce development; economic and safety data research and sharing; and a forum for cross-disciplinary collaboration. AMFA is joining a broad coalition of support and encourages Congress to act on this proposed legislation.
Press Release: The Safe Aircraft Maintenance Standards Act is a Huge Step Forward
November 15, 2019 -- Today House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Chairman Peter DeFazio (D-OR) introduced The Safe Aircraft Maintenance Standards Act, calling for unannounced FAA inspections of foreign repair stations, minimum qualifications for mechanics and others working on U.S.-registered aircraft at foreign repair stations, data gathering and analysis, a conditional moratorium on FAA certification of new foreign repair stations, and requiring the FAA to a create an online repository for carriers to report heavy maintenance history by location and specific aircraft registration number, as well as other safety metrics.
Garamendi, Zeldin Reintroduce Aircraft Maintenance Outsourcing Disclosure Act
AMFA supports the Aircraft Maintenance Outsourcing Disclosure Act reintroduced by Representative Garamendi (D, CA). This bill accomplishes important changes:

  • Requires airlines to disclose the maintenance history for their aircraft fleets, specifically the location and date an aircraft underwent heavy maintenance
  • Airlines would be required to post this information online, distribute it with tickets, and communicate it to passengers upon request
  • Airlines would also be required to submit an annual report to a new Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) database that tracks the maintenance history of their aircraft fleet
  • Database will also indicate whether maintenance was conducted in the United States or abroad; by FAA-certified mechanics or not; or by airline employees or third-party contractors

AMFA Comment to FAA Regarding Foreign Repair Station Drug Testing Requirements
The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) appreciates the opportunity to provide comment on the FAA advance notice of proposed rulemaking. AMFA supports the FAA effort to implement drug and alcohol testing requirements on foreign repair station employees. AMFA further supports a drug and alcohol testing framework that imposes equal standards on both foreign and domestic aircraft maintenance technicians. AMFA is the only craft specific, independent aviation union that represents over 3,000 aircraft maintenance technicians and related support personnel at Alaska Airlines and Southwest Airlines as well as advocates on behalf of our craft.

Another correction sir,
AMFA is not a rogue organization with no pull in the industry.
AMFA is actually a very professional grass roots organization that has tremendous amounts of pull in the industry. So much pull that congress has a many times called on AMFA to meet about issues within the airline industry that would affect the unions and the mechanics in the industry, and sometimes it is ONLY AMFA that they call on as they do believe in the Class and Craft type representation.
So please do read thru all the legislative venues I have posted for you and notice just how many times AMFA has done legislative meetings, interviews, and seminars with House Representatives, Senate Leaders, DOJ, FAA, DOT, TSA, Attorney General etc...
Don't let these industrialized unions (TWU,IAM, IBT/Teamsters) full ya. AMFA is so very well involved with any and all Mechanic Class and Craft issues up in DC, more so than any other airline industrial union. Not saying they are not connected in any way, but the leaders within the gov usually always calls on AMFA National Legislatives Leaders to meet privately when dealing with Class and Craft specific issues to keep all the industrial unions political one for all BS out of it.

Spirit just announced a vote for AMFA is coming soon for their mechanics and now hopefully by summer at AA for their mechanics to have a chance to vote in AMFA there. Watch out Bobby, when you report back to whomever is telling you this crap, be prepared for them to tell you that all this legislative work done by AMFA is all made up.

Oh I hear ya. but I tried a more approachable way to do it. Ya see, if I came on here and yelled at him, degraded him and all that, then the industrial guys would take those post and spread how ugly, threatening and yelling it all was and then they would say that i took a harsh course because I had nothing to offer to refute his attempt. So I decided to send over legit facts and proof and be polite about it as I believe it will get more attention that way. Pretty sure he won't even be back...

Trust me. The SWA mechanics know all about how the TWU works from watching and learning from what they do constantly to the AA mechanics and still do to this day. TWU has been sent packing within their first 4 days of trying to get in. Your 6 you claim are more than likely the same 6 that has always tried 2 times before and never more than those 6 starters. Both times last time TWU gave up after less than one week.
