Yeah, I was a member in bad standing. Big deal. Obviously it wasn't a big deal to the INTL or the District since they hired me afterwards. Right?
Yeah, it wasn't too bright posting some work slowdown stuff on a website but I was blessed to keep my job. No thanks to the IAM.
Going on a cruise during the vote tally? Actually, I worked 30 days in a row and didn't get paid a dime more for the entire 30 days leading up to the vote. My Birthday was on August 8 and I took 3 days off as the organizing was done and I had to come up for air. I'll see if I can put my expense reports on here so I can cram your lies up your arse with it.
Fired? Well, yes, but not because of performance but because I texted Delaney that I could no longer organize for his lying ass. He still took 30 days and tried to strike a deal with me to keep me on. Never mind that most AGC's and most employees of the district offered me congratulations on my team's successful campaign at AirTran and also at United ramp. I'll try to upload the FB files where most AGC's praised my work.
Now for the reality.
My organizing team tossed out the IAM INTL organizing handbook that saw the IAM lose 13 straight elections and throw our IAMPF at risk. And my team brought in the techniques required to win every election I directed. Considerably proud at that.
I was also proud of shooting for the top job, District President, and being the only non united Presidential candidate who had enough support to run for president. Quite an accomplishment although tough to win the presidency without being at United.
Incredibly proud of running for IP to challenge the LMRDA violations of the IAM. While disappointed entirely that the INTL would not respect the internal grievance, I was 'relentless' and had to win a federal case that secured not only the LMRDA rights where we can have a reasonable time to nominate and vote, but it also secured an actual election which I stepped aside for someone else better qualified.
And, currently, quite honored again by the membership by them endorsing me at the top 8 locals in our district. Only a handful of candidates [I think 5] out of all candidates had that sorta support.
If all this is being my own worst enemy then color me a extremely blessed person indeed.
I look forward to 'pruning' our great union of the deadwood. This union is at the crossroads and is dying. Fact is, our members can't see where union begins and management ends. But there is hope, and hope has to start with change and a rebuilding of this union from ground zero. We have one chance, and I'm happy to report that our members seem to be making the best of it!
