He cant do a thing to help robbed.

He isnt the coordinator, nor would he be PDGC.

He is blowing smoke up your rear.

His solution is to push everything to arbitration which would logjam the process even more.

See he cant force the company to settle any grievance, no one can, and both parties have to agree to the arbiter and the dates.

He doesnt even know your case and would have to be brought up to speed.
whatever the correct process is, 5 yrs and  counting for a grievance is pathetic, only way it can be called.

I chose to stand with fleet service a long time ago. I have no problem with a political thread as well, no big deal to me.  But you can't separate politics from discussion about our negotiators who have now made a mockery of this whole process.  And I don't have to be in negotiations to know that nothing happened the last two days.  Why?  Because they simply do NOT trust the membership.  AH knows this and is LHAO at them calling their bluff.  This cuts and it cuts deep.  Nobody likes it but that's the truth fellas.  Very few can handle the truth and love the rah rah.  Anyone else want to stay in wonderland, go right ahead.  All the talk of solidarity starts at the top with the leadership trusting the members.  Sorry fellas but they just don't and their inaction proves it.
This piece of garbage just won't stop for nothing. If this guy won an election I can promise that you'd wind up hating him more than any company rep you'll ever come across. He couldn't build a Lincoln log house much less any unity.

Machinists Press NMB for Right to Strike US Airways

March 19, 2014

After hearing American Airlines CEO Doug Parker lie about how wonderful labor relations are at the “new” American Airlines at a JPMorgan investor conference last week, Parker and his management team once again slapped IAM members at US Airways in the face by refusing to settle contracts that provide comparable wage rates to those negotiated with American’s employees who perform the same work.

The continued insult occurred at the offices of the National Mediation Board (NMB) in Washington D.C., where IAM Transportation Department officials met with NMB Chairwoman Linda Puchala to reiterate that an impasse has been reached and to press the NMB to release both parties from mediated talks.

“US Airways’ refusal to settle fair contracts that provides comparable wage rates to what it negotiated with American’s employees who perform the same work is an insult,” said IAM IAM District 141 President Rich Delaney. “We demand a release from these fruitless discussions so we can exercise our right to strike.”

“We will not walk away from years of negotiations because that is what US Airways wants,” said District 142 President Tom Higginbotham. “IAM members at US Airways sacrificed when needed to save the airline, and now’s the time for fairness, not disrespect.”

In a quarterly meeting in February, Parker stated that American’s goal is to achieve single joint contracts with all its labor unions. IAM members at US Airways have been in contract negotiations with the carrier for almost three years and have demanded that they settle stand-alone agreements before any joint negotiations take place.

“The IAM has stated all along that fair stand-alone contracts for IAM members at US Airways must be achieved before the idea of joint negotiations is entertained,” said IAM General Vice President Sito Pantoja. “With our TWU sisters and brothers, there are almost 30,000 voices at the ‘new’ American who are demanding fairness and respect.”

“The TWU and IAM are partners,” said Transport Workers Union President Harry Lombardo, in a public show of support for IAM ground workers. “Both unions belong to the AFL- CIO. We represent workers that share the same skills and classifications; the nearly 30,000 ground workers represented by IAM and TWU at the new American Airlines are union brothers and sisters. We will not sit idly by as management tries to drive a wedge between workers.”

“I thank TWU President Harry Lombardo for his public statement of solidarity,” continued Pantoja. “Mr. Parker should take notice that clear lines of division have formed at his airline. All we ask for is fairness, and we are prepared to fight for it.”

The TWU and IAM formed an official representation alliance last year after the merger of American and US Airways, and plan to combine both union’s considerable resources to represent TWU-IAM ground workers at the “new” American.

The NMB has yet to issue a decision to release both parties from mediated negotiations and extend a proffer of arbitration.

The IAM-TWU alliance represents nearly 30,000 ground workers at the “new” American Airlines and is the largest union at the carrier.

Tim  if my case was already settled then i have no idea about it.   all i know is that on April 10 2013 when the donkeys refused to budge  Frank made dam clear he would Arbitrate it    and there was one scheduled for Jan 24 2014  however  after repeatedly asking Frank for the time place etc etc  I had to pm couple other folks to help me get some answers   and the very latest i know is that the girl who did the arb schd for the airline was fired  and now come may 1 harbinson is retiring  not to mention i am told that that is good news for me  plus someone is suppose to testify on my behalf   so if this was settled  i sure as hell been kept in isolation or worse.

700  thanks for the message and the flyer    thats great  to see and to know the twu says they fully support us

Amazing all he ever talks about is if he is elected... he will "crack skulls" inside, and within the Union... never a peep that he would crack skulls against the real opposition... the Company!

What is the IAM141 Plan B, i.e., should it take another 6 months with no release in sight?  That's the question and that should be the thing that chaps every fleet service person's ass if they knew the moves.  In the meantime, AH is LHAO because he knows the same moves and because the IAM141 doesn't trust the membership, he doesn't have to offer anything and keep calling bluff.

this is a valid question imo, if the NMB decides to kick the can down the road.

There is nothing any union can do except work by the book.

The talks are controlled by the NMB under the RLA.

It seems many of you dont realize the RLA was enacted to stop all the wildcat strikes in the railroad industry, which gave the workers the right to unionize.

The main purpose of the RLA is to prevent the interruption of interstate commerce.

this seems to be the unfortunate truth and it goads my ass to no end

We tried back in the early 90s to get the RLA changed but of course Airlines and Railroads fought against it and no change was made.

The unions secretly like the RLA for several reasons reasons:

1) Decertification is more difficult and often impossible
2) Not subject to RTW laws-collect dues/agency fees regardless
3) Opportunity to justify lack of performance on RLA and prolonged negotiations.
