Tim,

Why all the hate? If you have a problem with something I usually like getting a phone call so that I can address the situation. Why are you on here spewing all of this hate? If you have things you would like to address I'm sure other AGC's are also willing to listen. So far I have only seen attacks by you which really makes it hard to address you without some mistrust. I have made mistakes in the past and will make mistakes in the future but one thing I will always do is represent anybody and everybody all the time. When I first got into office 15 months ago I had 43 grievances at step 4 in PHX.  I worked  hard at resolving this issue and now have around 15. That includes about 8 to 10 that I have appealed since I started. So you see Tim, I do my job since getting into office and my GC would attest to this. They know what grievances are at what step.  I have a Sociology degree from Arizona State University and I use my education for the betterment of all Union members all the time. Like I said before I will make mistakes but I will fight for everyone including you. I would appreciate that you spew your hate somewhere else.

what hate?  I'm actually quite positive about cleaning up this union.  You mentioned Delta and I just checked you and reminded you that you just endorsed a contract that not only has ready reserve but destroyed actual union jobs with your endorsement.

Don't mention ready reserve at Delta if you don't want someone to call you out over endorsing ready reserve at United.

Josh,
those ready reserve openings at United you posted were for May through September. They are not considered active employees, do not have recall, and do not accrue seniority. Similar to Delta.  The difference is that, yes, they do pay dues.
Thank Prez and CB for endorsing that.

So similarly not even pass privileges/non-rev? Wow.

What do they get for their dues if they have no job protection or seniority?

I'm fine with that Roabilly. I wish more retirees stayed involved.

My guess is that management will tell the temps that there is a possibility that this is just a rehearsal and that some of them may stay on past September.  I imagine that's what they do with the ready reserves at Delta as well.
Most likely, summer help though and college students who would like a job after may but before September.  Thank the eboard for waiving off part time caps as well for this one.  Lying to folks telling them that the company can't hire ready reserve if there are people laid off is another lie they spread.

I don't know about that but I don't understand why temporary - essentially disposable - employees would have to pay union dues when they're not even working under the conditions of the CBA.

And no arbitration since they would be gone before it got to step 2.......Right 700?

for better or worse from what I see this election may very well come down to a referendum on the UA agreement esp to the UA members.
unfortunately if said agreement was the greatest in industry history as it was touted there wouldn't even be an election or it would be a given . The incumbents would be viewed as kings and rightfully so.
However since it looks like some UA members don't see it that way it's as they say going to be a horserace.
You are absolutely correct. Nominations started yesterday, so we will see.

After the garbage was passed last November, I think there will be a house cleaning. Unless apathy sets in. But many now have skin in the game due to the RIF's. I for one cannot support the current regime. Whoever said that the UA agreement was "monumental", they weren't lying. I've seen nothing positive come from this agreement. For most on the sCO side, it was a wash. ORD and IAH voted for it. The funny thing was, on the day that the retro payments came out, the company went thru with their plan to reduce jobs and status. My hub took a double hit this year. Two Furloughs and reductions within 10 months! Now the CLE debacle. The company wanted to tell the employees in APRIL about the reduction of hub status. But someone leaked it out to the media and the company had to lie. Even the senior station mangement didn't know about it. And now the Temp postings at ORD (I don't know how many other stations that it will come to) We don't have a automatic "C" and "D" scale like DL with RR and DGS or like AA with Eagle, so this agreement will have a lot of temps for a "C" scale workforce. Monday the District put out a release, on what are they going to do to press the company on LOA #6? They even screwed up the ongoing RIF where no one for sure knows whats available to transfer in or bump in. LOA #5 (that lie) and LOA#6 (with sUA retro) sold a lot of "Yes" votes, but Tim and others knew better. Our hub was an overwhelmingly "NO" vote.

Bottom line: Sito; Roach; Delaney; and Buffy all has to go. If this union can't support the LL's (but only for dues increases...) how's the District or the International going to support us? At least show some fight!

Tim, what does the UA IAM board member does? What is his function? I know they have an office at Willis.

How did I know you would ignore the tough questions:

Once again I am going to ask you but you wont answer.

If you adhere strictly to the time limits, it pushes the grievance to the next step, they will all end up in arbitration or withdrawn, is that too hard for you to understand?

You say enforce the contract, that means push it to the next step, do you even know your CBA?

Time Limits
Article 20

The time limits set forth in this Article may only be waived by mutual, written agreement of the parties.

Failure of the Company to answer grievances within the prescribed time limits at any step automatically moves such grievances to the next level of the grievance procedure.

Failure of the employee or his Union representatives to comply with any of the prescribed time limits will withdraw any such grIevances from further consideration.

So if they dont adhere to the time limits in first step, why do you think they will adhere to the time limits in any step?

So whats your plan to make the company answer grievances in a timely manner?

Enforcing the time limits just pushes it to the next step. Read your CBA.

Come on Timmy, finally answer something.
