Color me out of the "for argument sake" stuff. The focus is on strike right now. It is foolishness to talk about myth.. If delaney contacts me, i will do what is best for the membership.
CB,

I think you should get the ball a rollin' on this. Tim "will do what is best for the membership" if RD call's, or sends a certified letter, or however he would contact Tim to ask to be on the NC. Let's get him to put up or shut up PLEASE!!!!!!!!!! I think he would turn down the offer though. so lets see. What do you think? He all but said make the offer here. At least that's what I read it as.

This would be a good time for all AGCs' to remind their counterparts in Pax Service that they are not to asst outside if their is a work action. There are a lot of above wing in the smaller stations that do know Fleet Service but are not qualified or up-to-date according to training. You know MGMT will have briefings regarding such at some point.
My personal opinion on this:  Let them work the ramp at company direction.  The FAA will NOT take kindly to that one!  If they train them it would of course be a different story.

Question for you:  Will you support Delaney OR will you do what YOU think is right for the membership?  I recognize that the two might be the same, but what if there is a difference?

IMO here's a way for DP and the rest of the donkeys in DFW get US FSA to work American metal look at our current contract Article 4 section A sub section 4!
Other non-company aircraft!
Just my 2 cents
Rook,
The language you refer to in the current US CBA under Article 4, section A, as it pertains to Ramp Service work, affords the company the contractual right of  "when and where so directed: work associated with US Airways Express aircraft and other non - company aircraft, the operation of jetways, performing catering, security checks and any other station work." With this type of language in the contract... seperation of work and metal becomes clouded. The company's interpretation of this language could include AA mainline work currently being performed by vendors without a contract. More gray language passed by while the past DL Leadership team and the members focused strictly on compensation. Time will tell.

Since when has the company ever followed the contract? Through this merger they will do what ever thay want because they know it will take a couple of years to hear grievence filed on the subject and by then it won't matter and it all goes back to the district not stopping it. THE DISTRICT HAS NO BALLS

So much for US not working AA metal until there is a Transition Agreement. Any US IAM Fleet member working in a station, where AA mainline is handled by a vendor, should be aware. If the company directs you to work AA metal, under the language in Article 4 of the US Fleet CBA, the company's directive is in compliance of the contract the way I see it. Refusal could warrant insubordination. Your only option would be to file a grievance. Yea ....

You cant work it until you are trained on AA's procedures.

If they force you you can refuse to due to it being unsafe, call out the shop steward, safety rep and call the FAA, you cant work an AA plane unless you are trained on their procedures.

Management will just load a training test with a completion date…. BAM your trained

That's actually a good question.  As an employee for the District, I saw that everyone around me supported Delaney over the membership, in a spooky blind loyalty sorta way.  I can only support Delaney insomuch as he did/does right by the membership. Didn't/doesn't matter if it an appointed position or an elected position or if I'm just working on the ramp.

I have supported his actions of pushing the association as I think that is beneficial to US AIRWAYS members. I could never have supported him by endorsing the sUA since it scorched thousands of jobs.

At this point we are stuck with him for two more years, but it doesn't mean that our eboard has to keep renting out its brain with a blind loyalty to a man, as opposed to a membership.  The bylaws is clear, this District is run by an executive board, NOT a General Chairman, and the message in the bylaws is in the service of the membership, NOT the President.  If we are wise enough to get dissenting voices in the eboard, things can change. And I think that's where we are headed since the nominations have shown that the majority of members are quite tired of the giant kumbuya jerkoff session it is currently experiencing.

Tim,

We all know how nominations go, versus the actual vote. You are a prime example in the last district election. Nominations only mean that people couldn't be bothered to to show up to the meeting and vote on the nominations. Hence 2444's nomination went to the opposing slate. Lets wait and see how the actual vote goes, and then we can really se if the members want a change. DEAL?

Agreed! Last election, Nelson went nuts and bragged for months about nominations... only to finish LAST in the elections!
