Since it's become obvious from a few posters that those of us who are retired are no longer welcome in this topic, I will butt out of your business & go ahead and continue to enjoy retirement.

I highly recommend it for each of you. Life outside is awesome & there is life after. I wish you all the best.

Orgac. I totally agree w you. Esp being in an outline city. Scope has got to be the most important thing. When and IF a TA comes for a vote... if scope is not what it shld be or worse. Its a big NO from myself n many others in bwi

Robbed could you see the ratification of this playing out like UAL or do you think people have learned?

Harry,

As a retiree you still have voting rights! I'm going to take great pleasure in voting for my candidates as I see fit. I'll assure you that Nelson will NOT be one of my choices!

After what happened in 08 plus ual n ha I think a lot of folks have learned josh. Thats why I dont think we will get a shaft ta like ua and ha.

Let's hope so Robbed. My worry is the TWU will SCS and you guys will get a contract quickly for joint negotiations and lose leverage.

Ograc., you are correct that scope affects everyone. But with this District was banking on with the UA agreement that people won't move and take he furlough. Take the instance of CLE: The company only opened up 17 spots for PHX, and everyone else went to SFO. That is the most junior hub in the system next to ORD. I think that about 75 to 80 took the system option and went to Frisco to keep their full time. So with most of the line stations that will be outsourced, a FT agent to keep his FT will only have SFO; ORD; and possibly IAH. That's it. The company is taking their sweet time on implanting LOA 6, which can open up places like MCO, etc. This is the so called "job security" that the District bragged about.

Whatever you guys do, preserve your scope. Don't make ouristake and chase the money. We are dearly paying for it now.
What stations the company would announce they have openings in when outsourcing a station would remain to be seen at AA (sUS). My guess would be hub stations currently relying on overtime coverage to keep the operation running. Another way outsourcing will affect hubs and larger stations. Displace outline employees into stations relying too heavily on overtime. This process creates the "synergies" they are after with merging. The strategy of pitting employees in large stations against members' jobs in outline stations for a few dollars is nothing new in this industry. It has worked well for them in the past. They will continue to use it until the membership puts a stop to it. The members at UA are the latest who took the bait.

Let's speculate AF Yahoos ! because the LCC/IAM/ Membership will have to wait for the i's to be doted / t's to be crossed by the Principals at the table before TA can be released for voting . How many flights ? How many seats? Will a E- flight count as 1/2 or 1 ? will the current/future AAL Cities/Stations fly under CBA /SCOPE to maintain F/S Agents/Clerks ? Fish On !

That's a pretty big "Fish On" in that pic.  Any TA that comes back without enhancing scope [not talking phantom Cinderealla Dates that drop dead] is a no go for me, as far as my personal vote.  I do think that the negotiation committee should show the membership the proposals or allow us to vote on a T/A after the negotiation team recommends an acceptance or rejection.  I'm disappointed that I did hear scope was now off the table, and imo, that makes absolutely no sense to put 'days off' and other increases ahead of things prior to scope being enhanced.  Nonetheless, I'm just one vote but I would do my best to campaign against such a TA, regardless of how much money or days off is tossed around.  We need to be aware of the techniques that Delaney used at United, insomuch that he avoided talking about protecting work and instead brought forth a new "No layoff for those employees hired before x day".   Remember, we already have that in our contract regarding members hired prior to 1999 and it hasn't saved any work.  The primary reason why anyone should want a union is to solve the question, "Whose work is it?".  As we have seen at United,  agreeing to waive scope but claiming "Job Security" by allowing a path for a vendor to do the work and our members to move 3,000 miles isn't the answer. This will be the first and last time when we have SO MUCH LEVERAGE in section 6.   Negotiating against a company making Billions [not millions but BILLIONS] in an industry that is fat as a pig is great.  The health of this industry may not be so good in the future, and I have never seen this industry and this company kicking so much butt.  Leaving the table by only agreeing to AMR wages and not enhancing scope is a crime.  Even AMR wages is low when compared to the industry but I think many of our members would look beyond that if scope was enhanced.

Delaney reports that Hemmenway has been removed from negotiations and replaced by someone ordered by the Company to get it done.

Ok, after just hanging up with one of my best friends who still works there I'm going to change my mind on posting in this forum.

While I still feel that I owe no one an explanation on why I post the little I do in here, here it is anyway. I still have very good friends working that  care about very much & want to see you all get the best contract & not get fucked. Now if & when that happens I will be glad to "fly into the sunset " and let this place go. After this conversation I'm also more determined than ever to use my one vote as a retiree to help make sure Nelson doesn't get elected. I owe this to my friends who have been saying PLEASE.

If true it's more than likely that he was replaced because of the strong feelings your members have towards him? You may want to look at this as a sign that DP is signaling that he is trying to be sincere in his comments about trying to put the past behind us and try to begin to move forward? He's made many very public statements regarding wanting labor peace for the new joint enterprise.

...Or that he may be trying to lull people into a false sense of relief?
