Luv, you'll probably recoup it after the APA finishes the seniority list. That 'recouping' may just suffice as their LUP. In my opinion, as written, Judge Silver's order allows for all of that. I think that's what she meant by Pyrrhic Victory.

That's not a slam, it's just an opinion, and it affects me too if I'm right.

I think that rant about a "pyrrhic victory" just demonstrated how little she understands about the process.  The MB law wouldn't even make sense if it worked the way she explained it.  Once a single carrier status was granted by the NMB, one side or the other would have no representation.  Like I said, it makes no sense at all.

Personally, I don't split 8's when the dealer is showing a 9, 10 or Ace, but that's just me.

 
I don't waste time anymore with blackjack (save for occassional chuckles between poker tournament rounds) where the established house odds are necessarilly rigged against the players/suckers, but instead prefer to play purely against people. Again...No matter Brother. What's done's indeed done, and let's all just try to do our best in future dealings with the thieving weasels of team tempe. 😉

This is APA Communications Committee Chairman Capt. Tom Hoban with a follow-up APA Information Hotline for Tuesday, Jan. 14. (Read the previous hotline detailing the results of the tax-deferral survey and the board's direction regarding the question of tax deferral.)

APA FILES SINGLE-CARRIER PETITION: Today, the APA leadership and general counsel filed a petition for single-carrier/single-transportation-system status with the National Mediation Board (NMB). This filing is done to determine the representative body for the pilots of the new American Airlines as we proceed with upcoming joint collective bargaining agreement negotiations and the seniority integration process.

The NMB will conduct an investigation to determine if American Airlines and US Airways should be considered a single carrier for transportation purposes and if an election for representation should be considered. Other unions may intervene in the election if they provide an adequate "showing of interest."

Your leadership anticipates that APA will become the representative organization for the combined pilot group. The NMB will likely render its decision within the next six months.

APA BOARD OF DIRECTORS SPECIAL MEETING: The board spent a portion of the day in closed session for briefings by the Seniority Integration Committee and Director of Safety, Training, Security and Aeromedical Ray Duke.

Also today, the board approved a series of three motions reconstituting the APA Appeal Board in accordance with the APA Constitution and Bylaws Article VII D. and Policy Manual Section 4.01. Capt. Jim Condes will serve as Appeal Board chairman and a regular member, FO Chuck Barnett and FO Lisa Heller will serve as regular members, and Capt. Scott Hollinger and FO Katie Fletcher will serve as alternate members.

In addition, Flight Time/Duty Time Subcommittee Chairman Capt. Doug Pinion and subcommittee member FO Carrie Giles recapped the major issues associated with implementation of FAR 117. We recommend that you review the latest FAR 117 Q&As issued earlier today if you haven't already done so.

The board recessed at 5:30 p.m. and will reconvene at 9 a.m. tomorrow.

You know the vote was not unanimous until the CLT and PHL at least got us retro pay, try to keep up. Gary did even want to try for.

Why is it that only you, the CLT and PHL reps insist on grabbing the credit for doing something that was their job?  I don't see anyone else trumpetting their accomplishments anywhere.

Good for you princess! Who could have EVER even imagined the APA taking such a bold step!? One would almost have to assume they "suspected" they'd eventually be the surviving agency! Seriously: Just exactly how stupid are "you'se", really and truly? Your 330 bid and "Ho Ho Ho! St nic is coming to town!" should, without even any possible question, be just around the corner! ....Umm...Do "you'se" by chance, have any fresh "T Minus" clocks to offer up?....This place has been a bit short of completely hysterical laughter of late...? 🙂

Bill you got to give credit where it's due, fact Gary did not fight for us, plain and simple, I appreciate the efforts of the guys that got us the back pay. I take credit for nothing.

Yes.  Congress passed M-B specifically to preclude the very situatiuon Silver anticipates, indeed even tries to order.  Like anyone will pay attention to that dicta.
