Perhaps.

But there is a lot of stiff competition from those westies for "most idiotic quote of the week" as they melt down, clutching at straws all the way.

I'm glad we have stadium seating here so I don't miss out on the marvelous comedy playing out as they become more desperate and shrill.

I've still got to go with prechilled's Tiny Tim impersonation for First Prize last week: "...and I am sure the APA will be fair to us all."/God Bless us, every one/etc, and yes; stadium seating's a good thing here. 😉

Nobody has to- the Nic is the only seniority list the company has accepted. Once Usapa goes away the only party voicing a concern over it will be gone. AoL outlives Usapa, AoL wins.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why you think USAPA will be gone and AOL will still be here.  USAPA doesn't disappear just because it is no longer the CBA.  It will be here for as long as it has money and support.  USAPA existed months before it became the CBA and does not depend on being the bargaining agent to exist any more than does AOL.

Do you have any living grey matter in your head?

There is nothing which says US Airways which will survive after I get the new uniform. It all goes in the garbage along with it's "legacy"
Me, too, actually.  So what's your point?

Back in the day (while you were still in diapers) I sent resumes and application to every carrier EXCEPT USAir.  Think I will miss it any more than you?  Think again.  And I am far from alone among east pilots in this sentiment.

And you wonder why the Chief Pilot in Phoenix has a drawer full of service pins which pilots refuse to pick up.

I'll bet that USAPA crap disappears faster than Luv can finish a Box at Bojangles when we finally bury your union.

ALPA pilots know your legacy.

They had to chase me down to give me my 30 year pin (and, don't forget the certificate of "appreciation") after it had been issued over three years previous.  I asked if I had to take it, and they said yes.  The pin has a real diamond in it, so I didn't trash that.  The certificate got shredded that night.

You're definitely not alone...pretty much on the same page here. What's most comical in snapthis' post though, was offering up the presumably scathing "insult": "ALPA pilots know your legacy." I can only assume that was supposed to break our hearts all over the east. Truly amazing!

Need some information:
With the imminent demise of Usapa and this the removal of the only resistant element to the Nic, I need to see what seniority is necessary for clt 320 captains to hold weekends off. I figure I'm about 60% on the captain list once we combine ops in the near future. Thanks in advance
Spoken like the true scab the bimbo is. Unable to achieve on its own, the scab has no choice but to steal jobs from those who earned them.

Pitiful.... But not very surprising.

They keep throwing this stuff at us like it's going to upset us.  What a bunch of clueless f-ups.

They're amazingly naive, at the very best....but ya' gotta' admit are a good source of dependable chuckles. 😉

It obviously does, considering you each waste 5 or 6 posts yakking about each post. LOL

That's but one key component of west "strategy" while on "Mr. Spartan's Wild Ride" in Fantasyland and it just becomes increasingly hilarious from there.

Other necessary assumptions:

1) A line of a judge's (however bizarre) dicta magically carries far more weight than do actual Rulings and/or MB law and protocol.
2) The APA's somehow terrified of their mighty "army", and will have not the slightest concerns for any potential litigation that could come from anyone/anywhere else, and will thus; unquestionably insist on the nic, even though doing so would seriously harm their own people in any then "relative" arbitration process.
3) The nic is still magically "viable", as the supposedly only possible list, even though the MOU which supercedes all previous contractual agreements says, states or even hints nothing of the kind, and in fact mentions "lists" plural, as actually being in effect.
4) Most laughably; that it's apparently been the life-long, secret dream of the APA to embrace and exult AWA's "spartans", and eagerly move them up the seniority/attrition/etc ladder above even their own people, as expeditiously as can be done. 😉

The list continues on from there, but some business awaits, and I've little doubt a few mighty "spartans" are now ready to again beat their "shields" a bit more. 😉

I must disagree with you on this point. US Airways legacy is the "new" American. And other than usapa going away at some point very little has changed. Although I have not thrown away the old uniforms they are not something that I leave around for people to see. When I retired I was given an acrylic trinket with my name on it and years of service. I think the company went to the place called Things Remembered to buy it for about $15.00. I have NO idea where that is. I do however have pictures from my career and enough good memories of those I worked with and met during my career to last me for two life times.

All the best,

Bob

I was indifferent to this merger and I saw improvements in some areas with the schedulers, dispatch for example and wish the best for them in Pitt. Two of my friends were caught in that Cactus 18, false RICO, thrown out of court fiasco got me and a number of the West pilots off the sidelines. Never mind the whole Nic debate, if I can point at one huge tactical error it would be the that event. The gloves came off. We came together raised money, money which defended these pilots and kept them and their families out of bankruptcy. All this over what? Web board postings? Phone calls?
Whatever...it was all trumped-up, exaggerated charges meant to quiet opposition to the screw-job known as USAPA.

I think you said you started with the company in 1973, had a long career, retired, enjoying life on the farm. At least you don't have to look back and say that your union tried to sue you into bankruptcy.

I think many West pilots won't look back on 2005-2014, the US Airways era with fond memories.

All the best to you for having a different experience, Bob.

Diapers? That's pretty funny considering I and others from my generation hold an AARP card. Using your logic it's OK to have Charlotte rep, Courtney (genX) otherwise known as Flounder, hired in 1999 career lasting until 2002 displace an actively flying pilot of the acquiring airline.

I've got news for you, the arbitrator and pilot neutrals heard your arguments and rejected them. Where's that DOH list I keep hearing about? What was it 6 months to DOH and an industry leading contract?

That's right up there with Leonidas being bankrupt and USAPA being around more than a few months from now.

Dream on pal, dream on.....

Speaking of feeding. East pilots, make sure your bid is up to date. Huge bid closing tonight. Should be RECORD wide body results and other upgrades. Might have some 6 month new hire 190 capts.
Sorry Snap. Fergie kept you guys out of this one and others for years to come.

I applaud Eric for his efforts in preserving the careers of West pilots.

I applaud you for getting some exercise.
