Eolesen is right. She looked like trailer trash. Completely out of place, not very articulate, and shooting off her mouth on a subject she obviously knows nothing about. An embarrassment to all of us.

If you've been disgruntled for 15 years at a job, isn't it time to move on? What crap.

Sure. Give me your name so I know who to ask for. I'll be sure to pack along a few diapers -- they really add ambiance beyond what the typical lav offers.

Why would you even be on an AA jet? Listening to her one gets the impression doing so is gambling with your life.

Bad interview! She came off sounding like a disgruntled nut-job. Even though everything she was saying may have merit, she clearly wasn't the one to deliver the message or, she really wasn't prepared for her "15 minutes" and it showed.

Unfortunately, she's going to appear to be given some sort of credit as the FAA, who's collective asses are in hot water right now, are going to start coming down on the airlines for just the sort of items she was trying to bring up.

AA now has all they need to change the suspension to a full blown firing. Either that or they can end the suspension, bring her back, just so they can very publicly fire her. I'm sure she doesn't care but, the airline can also sue her ass off for making statements regarding the safety of AA's aircraft without providing positive proof of any kind.

Her troubles have just begun.

Flight Attendants remember, carry a digital camera! and your cell phone won't do, the images aren't clear enough. When digitally photographing something you believe is wrong with an aircraft, remember to photograph the plane's certificate in sequence with your other photos. Also remember, what YOU may deem to be a problem with an aircraft, might not be. Those determinations are best left up to the pilots who fly them and the mechanics who maintain them.

Like Eric said she threw her fellow FA's on that other flight under the bus. What kills me is when she talks about that all she knows about that flight is what she reads in the paper. HELLO, anyone in the airline industry knows that half of what you read in the paper regarding the airlines is garbage.

I also found her comments about "unsafe" aircraft to be insulting to those of us in maintenance. Like you said, what an FA determines to be unsafe might not actually be so.

It does one thing. It highlights the disfunctional relationship with the workers that the bonus-grabbing American executive have fostered over the last 8 years.

Another sad part of this is that none of the airline executives, nor most US executives, really care about anything except how they can stuff their own pockets.

Now THAT's a post to be proud of. Nothing like civil, polite comments from someone who claims to be a professional flight attendant.

The FA who went off on maintenance at the award ceremony hasn't flown in two years, according to AA. My guess would be psych problems that are far beyond the capability of the EAP.

I agree. She is an embarrassment to us all. She does not speak for the vast majority of AA flight attendants when it comes to safety.

Nor 'easta does not speak for us either.

The WHOLE AA/FAA/APFA thing is going to get VERY VERY Interesting(Right around PUP payout time) !!

I'll agree that she looked a lil' "rough around the edges".

What I'd like to know, was who the other F/A's were that WALKED OFF with her, and what was the situation at the time,................................and were THOSE other F/A's diciplined or not.

eolosen, that can be your detective assignment, if you so choose.

Inquiring minds would like to know.

(Pick one Only)....................1. TIME WILL TELL..............or............2. STAY TUNED !

JESUS, can you Imagine ....if CRANDALL was at the HELM right now ??

To say the least, but we'll find out who has the reall balls. If those bAAstards put millions into their pockets again, and if each and every employee doesn't stage an immediate walk-out on a grand scale, then they all deserve being raked over the coals and they all deserve everything the scaming cretins dish out because frankly, I'm actually growing tired of the bitching and moaning.

I wouldn't throw her under the bus just yet. She makes a valid point, her specific event occurred some time ago and she never heard a word. But now that this situation with Desir has arouse, AA makes a media event. Typical AA style.

Her comments about unsafe airplanes are disturbing especially since she didn't give specifics.
But, her interpretation of unsafe could fit the bill for her. After all, what maintenance guy would agree that TWA style maint is superior to AAs, i.e. more placards less parts, etc, etc. Such is the world we live. I just do my job, don't roll the dice on safety, no need to be a hero. And if they need parts they don't have, the silver tube can sit as long as it takes. Bottom line.

It was ill timed, tacky and unprofessional. Even APFA doesn't want to touch this.

[Comment deleted by moderator]. Your response, "Remind me to rub your entree around the inside of the toilet and on the lav floor" is the most tasteless and unprofessional one I have observed on any website.

Uh L1011,.............I'm not so sure your meal would be "tasteless" !!! 🙄 🙄

her specific event occurred some time ago and she never heard a word.

Here's what Laurie Curtis has to say on aaflightservice.com, before the tacky outburst:

Golden Heart Ceremony
On April 2, we will honor the lifesaving efforts of our flight attendants using the AED at our third Golden Heart Award Ceremony. The first ceremony occurred in 1998, the last in 2004, and this year’s event has been in the planning stages since then. The ceremony will allow flight attendant heroes to meet with the customers they saved.

Apparently these events only occur every couple of years.
