You didn't mention maintaining a sleeve overlap of 1/3 circumference.

New here, I have been following your thread. I work for the big D. The same issues have been going through our maintenance department too.
Has any of your AMTs been "released" either temporarily or permanantly? We are having "in house" interviews with the AMTs that inspected and reworked the A/C on the 27th to see if they followed the AD to the letter.
Several have been temprorarily suspended. Our paperwork has change several times already, and the latest issue came up after a new inspector found the exsisting clip that the snap tube attaches to at the lower end is drawn upside down in the Fig. This went all the way to Boeing to get it figured out.
Very Concerned here how this is being handled.
Hard to hire a decent attorney when your unemployed. No Mechanics being suspended at AA over this FAA fiasco, besides 'Ourpay' has taken full responsibility!!!!![]()
Call your Union Hall....oooops, better scratch that!
Get yourself an Attorney!

Trying to comply with this AD is like trying to step on a roach on the kitchen floor in the morning. The target is constantly moving and changing directions. NO AMT's should be suspended or fired over this poorly written and drawn modification. If they are, they need to definitely get a lawyer and sue for reinstatement, lost wages etc.
How come the engineers that wrote this garbage still have a job?
, there's no money out of AA's pocket, and I'm still booking a refundable fare because schedules change and I'd rather not be dealing with restricted inventories and change fees.
Yes, it's that simple.
Suspended with pay right? Been there before-10 days, an unplanned vacation and I made the most of it.New here, I have been following your thread. I work for the big D. The same issues have been going through our maintenance department too.

Well according to the latest news releases you may be buying NWA, then you will be having a vote!Good question.
We have a minority group working "live" aircraft that have long pushed for a union. I did not come here to push that issue around, just inquiring into how your maintenance management has been treating your AMTs with this issue after they may have worked an A/C and it was looked at someone else that interpeted the AD differently.
This hole deal may reinforce pushing more AMTs at Delta into signing a card. We seem to have too many working in back shops that are comfortable and don't have to deal with these types of concerns that won't sign a card. This fiasco may be enough to change that, we will see.
So far everyone given time off has been dealt with in house, which is better than a pulled certificate.
I will keep you all updated as the week progressess.
Thanks. Keep up the good work.
People say the lost all that money...revenue, vouchers, etc....but how much money did aa save by not flying...fuel, employee pay, landing fees...????
