AA SVP Jim Ream on Last Best Offer Video

Because if the company gets us locked into this 6 years POS, they will celebrate for 6 long years, they cannot even fathom that they stand a chance at actually getting this deal. They are watering at the mouth, in hopes that we show there is no limit to what we would give up.

I cannot even believe we are voting on such a piece of crap. And the fact that the TWU,AA,Chamber of Commerce is all advocating a yes vote together is just beyond belief.

FEAR!

Good point...And during those 6 years, the profits will be huge and we will be told "SORRY, YOU GUYS HAVE A CONTRACT."
But I do understand the local community's concern to the economy.

That's a possibility, but I think you're overestimating the company's desire (or even their need) to see the LBO voted in.
  1. Assume that Section 6 starts over (as Hopeful and I were discussing on the abrogation thread) and the NMB decides to throw out everything that's happened up until the filing. The company knows that they can still get three or four years behind them just by nature of how slow the negotiations process is under the NMB's auspices, and the backlog of other Section 6 negotiations underway. Believe it or not, AA isn't at the front of the queue...
  2. Continuing to assume Section 6 resumes immediately, and they don't zero out the clock... From past history, I doubt that an impasse would be declared while the restructuring is underway. They'd run the risk of the bankruptcy judge granting an injunction, and I don't think NMB wants any more case law limiting their powers than already exists.

It's also proven that NMB won't declare an impasse during a Presidential election year, during a congressional election year, near peak holidays, or if the cooling off period will coincide with a full moon. Even if one were declared, I'd put probability of a PEB pretty high, regardless of who is in office.
  3. Last possibility which I still suspect may wind up happening... if it's determined that modifying the CBA thru a court restructuring process doesn't trigger Section 6, the company may wind up with their 6 years regardless since they've modified the amenable date in the Ask.

The process does not end with abrogation!!!

Overspeed , please tell me what it takes to be a union man? How should I vote on politics? Can I still maintain my NRA membership? Do I have to be a Democrat?

Seriuosly? lol If you vote for the GOP you sure as hell are not a "union man". It matters not how you spin it.

So, a union member who is against abortion, pro-gun, and pro-fossil fuels is supposed to leave all of their other convictions behind, and vote for Democrats just because they do a better job of pandering to the labor movement for money for nothing in return?...

Maybe you should start a campaign for all union members to go vegetarian and only drive hybrids, too, while you're at it.

After seeing the ream video, this song instantly popped into my head. This is dedicated to all the yes voters, especially the people in Tulsa.

They must be hard up to have ream plead the companys case for a yes vote. This offer is so ridiculous that management has to appeal to the masses for a yes. WAKE UP PEOPLE when have you ever seen a stunt like this to sway your vote HELL NO

It would appear that you cannot answer a question or two?

big jim is nervous, and out of uniform for a reason, shedding the coat and tie.
Doug Parker is nervous too, for the same reasons.

Why? Because if the Yes voters win, the stock options for execs will flow like the Colorado River! And the bonus money will be raining down forever more.

Hey, wouln't you be nervous on the edge of a windfall? $3 billion in yearly profits!
Think of Pavlov's dog's saliva flow at dinner-time.

All just to keep us at the bottom of pay and benefits for the duration. And after the merger, they will say to us: You already have your contract, and that can't be changed.
You voted for it!!!!!! They win, we lose big time. and our AMT brothers will be making comments about spineless union jellyfish.

The Co. and the union appear to be on the same side. Why the big push by little jim for a quick vote? What ever happened to solidarity and great union leadership?

Ask the 514 leadership!

Honestly, you single issue voters are the misguided ones. This whole democrats represent labor issue is a fallacy at best. Like E says, does nothing else concern you? Do you like the idea of being able to own property or even own a gun? Obama and his supporters don't. Do you support abortion or gay marrage? Obama and his supporters sure do. I really don't see any guys at work supporting any of these liberal (communist) beliefs. So why vote for somebody based on a single issue - that has been proven to be BS?

Hey Overspeed....... why not make your own video to explain the contract and all thats good and bad?
Oh thats right, you have no opinion on that

you have all the answers and criticism, you should be to explain it right to the members!

or wait...... better yet...... knock anyone else trying to inform the members of what they are really voting on in between the bullet points.

I await your correction video to be posted here Mr. Wonderful
