Any idea how many crew members live in LAS?

Actually live there? Unknown, except that some do. However I believe that the total number of crew (pilots and FA's) based there is like 150.

We have a lot of LAS commuters. Most of them live in LAS and commute to PHX. More pilots than fa's. I would guess at least 70 pilots, 40 fa's commute.

Last I knew there weren't 40 FA's assigned to LAS

You mean that 40 f/a's that are based in PHX can't call LAS home?  There are many.

Did I ever say "assigned" in my post? NO.
I said fa's and pilots that live in LAS and commute to PHX for work. There are probably more, don't know exact numbers.

I thought the subject was the LAS domicile and my comment(s) came from that.

Not to belittle the folks uprooted soon from LAS but just be glad your not part of the mess as we close two more bases on the east that will cause trouble for MANY. That includes those faced with the choices of picking a new base coupled by those that will come and and bump others down in seniority. It's a big shift for all. At least on the west they know where they are going and the affect is minimal. Again not belittling those on the west losing their position in LAS. It will have little effect on those that currently commute to PHX to work. Overall not a positive for anyone though it WILL streamline the bases which IMO needed to be done. A bitter pill to swallow indeed.

Anyone else hear about the movement that has begun with the reserve flight attendants in Philadelphia? It's gonna be one big hot holiday mess...

I say go for it! The AFA has put out an Eline in regard to H1N1. The company has shot down the union's request to protect flight attendants who may contact the illness. They may have to trip over $1.00 when eventually they are going to be out THOUSANDS when we are all on our H1N1 deathbeds...

I am in no way advocating any kind of work action as that would be illegal BUT I will say that management CLEARLY knows the situation at hand. They will screw and jack the reserves over and over and over. Well baby the reserves most DEFINITELY carry this operation on a holiday. So, when you have to cancel flights because you have nobody to work management needs to look no further than themselves in the mirror for someone to blame. People really just don't give a damn anymore. Many are just so fed up of being screwed month after month, year after year. It's gotta stop. All the crap with negotiations moving at a snails pace and sections shelved coupled with management arrogance creates the perfect storm to receive a middle finger from the very people that make this crap hole run. HO! HO! HO!

*pops popcorn*

It's gonna be soooooo big....

Was this mentioned anywhere else? I'm wondering how many will show up.

Ok here is a GREAT question. The company crunched the numbers and made the decision to close the two bases of LGA and BOS along with the group of f/a's and pilots in LAS. Now speakin for the east as I'm an east f/a how long does it take to crunch the numbers to offer buyouts, VF numbers etc? People are sitting around knowing their base is closing while others either want out or are worried of being bumped somewhere. Maybe we'll get information by Christmas. 🙄
