There is something very wrong with this contract and it's ridiculous over-use of seniority. Does ANY other carrier have such a system where someone can bump and flush people and disrupt the entire system because their domicile is closing? Brutal is the word.

“Bump and Flushâ€￾ dates back to mid 1960's when the seniority list was in motion and didn't sit stagnant. It has no place in today’s US Airways but good luck telling that to AFA! They refer to it as "exercising your seniority fully". 🙄 I think the bottom 15% of this group has suffered quite enough. What is the matter with; when your base closes going to where there is an opening then await your transfer to your base of choice? But then again UAL and others flush the transfer list almost weekly.

VPLOA went very junior for January. Went to 2001. I'll find numbers and post. Only 7 people from LGA took it even though they offered 10.

Don't get too comfy in those crashpad cause it looks like people may be displaced to CLT..... Good Luck all of us "new hires"

Oh dear God please, no. No worthy public transportation there and I would likely need a translator to undersrand pothole to English. Plus trying to catch a flight to my hometown is next to impossible. Not long ago a gal came up to the gate as I was filling out a jumpseat pass, looked at me and said, "1972, honey" as she started to fill hers out. I looked at her and gave a little "bow down" two handed wave and said, "Oh, my, of course. I wasn't even born then." She muttered something saucy as she slammed the jetway door. Funny thing was the agent cleared me for a regular seat after all that.

Someone take me behind the barn and just shoot me already.

You got the "ultimate" revenge though .... a seat!

I hope no one gets displaced.... It remains to be seen after BOS closes. Many are going to BOS because they;

1. Can drive
2. are waiting on a seperation pkg so they can get out.
3. waiting to see what goes down on the other bases.

One of my friends saw this on the ETB and sent it to me. The guy who posted it is now my hero!

Pick up your Christmas trip? Ha Ha Ha, You must be high! Not enough candy canes in the world. Besides, like any reserves have off over the Holidays. You know better! J. B.(90529)

That being said, what do you guys think about the CBS from Petronzzi regarding the shortage of flight attendants this week, especially on the 26 and 27? How many years does this have to happen before they wake up and start paying better holiday pay? Great strategy with the vacation buy back idea. And why would RSVS want to fly with 30 hours in for the month, year after year, over the holidays?

It's gonna be interesting...

It's going to be a mess. RSV's are already fed up with all the crap they faced in the past two days. I guess I can look forward to working nonstop over my six days of duty.

When it comes to holiday pay the company will not do ANYTHING to benefit the f/a group while in contract negotiations. The way they look at it is that if they give something to us the union will only want more and will now be on better ground to negotiate more since the company set a precedent. It works the same way for the union.

The company does this to themselves and every single year to boot. So now they offer vacation flyback to anyone who wants it even if they missed the deadline? Do they not see that it won't make a difference at this point? Talk about grabbing at straws. Bite the bullet and do a side letter for holiday pay. You'd have f/a's falling over themselves to work the holiday. They are basically APPROVING overflying because it is suiting scheduling. NICE! ! ! Have your contract at your side reserves. Not a minute over your legal limits. Read it and read it twice. Cause we all know who's naughty and who is nice.

IMO, they need to get rid of that ridiculous computation for holiday pay and go with time and a half for the days prior and after a holiday and double time for the day of.

And ditch the split trip language that's killing everyone.

One word PATHETIC! I have friends in CLT who sat in the 0.00 bucket until the 18th and OPR was their first assignment of the month. Come on ride the bid sheet, ride it. Come on ride the bid sheet, ride it. * Choo Choo* Get that TIME in girls, the cats are waitin on mamma to get home to set up the EMERY CAT Santa left!

Isn't that the truth? It's like a broken record. I just LOVE the panic CBS message about critical coverage on the 26th and 27th. Ummmmm critical due to what? Because of whom? ALL 100% avoidable and all self induced. WHATEVER

Did you see all the N/A's in PHL? I imagine a lot of RSVs are gonna be off this Christmas. It's not like we haven't worked every Thanksgiving, Easter, New Years, Halloween, Christmas, etc in the past 10 years.

Frankly it serves them right. Lack of planning on their part does not constitute an emergency on ours. IMHO. No one gives a crap that we are barely making our rent. I couldn't care less this year.

Sorry to say it.

And that's just it. Some people believe it shows bad work ethic if you call off during a major holiday. Well let me tell you something, Usairways doesn't give a damn about it's employees. To me that's a FACT. So why in turn should an employee give a DAMN about them. As for impacting passengers....well THAT my friends is in the hands of the company. The f/a union has been ready to sign on the dotted line were a proposal for TRUE holiday pay to be negotiated as a side letter. The company wants to play hardball and screw the employees left, right and sideways? Fine. Other businesses that need to operate over a holiday give you time and a half or something similar as a way of protecting their operation and saying thank you to the employee for showing up. The company OWES us nothing? Well I don't owe the company anything either. It's a sword and it cuts both ways. 🙄

Has anyone else heard about the MEC voting on a sideletter today regarding RSVS picking up trips on OFF or INV days during irregular ops for extra pay? Anyone, anyone?
