Very low turnout if those numbers hold up. There were 10,607 in the class according to the NMB website.

Incredibly stupid.

And there isnt a no vote option, you either vote yes, the non-votes are counted as a no.

Unfortunate. They will now be the group with a target on their backs for givebacks with no representation. So sad! It leaves them open for contracting out their jobs with AA's AMR's subsidiary.

Nothing on the NMB's web page, nor on the CWA's page about the vote, nor a press release on Yahoo airline news.

should provide a good case study for how well they actually do compared to other groups.

We’ve learned that American Airlines passenger service agents voted against union representation.
In a vote that ended Tuesday, 3,052 voted against union representation to 2,902 who voted in favor of the Communications Workers of America.

“We’re pleased that our reservations, customer service and premium services employees voted to remain independent,” American spokeswoman Missy Cousino said. “American thanks everyone who took part in this election. The company looks forward to continuing to work closely and directly with our agents and representatives as we build the new American Airlines.” -

“I’m disappointed,” CWA organizer Michael Lo Vuolo said Tuesday afternoon. “But when you look at how much the company spent fighting it and putting doubt in the minds of people about the future of their jobs, I think we did a good job.”

Votes Percent
For CWA 2902 48.7%
Against union 3,052 51.3%
Total 5,954 100.00%

CWA lost by 150 votes. Looking at it another way, it would won if it could have turned around 76 votes.

Can't wait to talk to several of the CWA unionistas at BOS later this week!

Nothing worse than someone who doesnt have a dog in the fight to gloat.

And if there is a merger there can be another vote.

The agents wearing CWA pins are the very worst in my experience. Kev keeps talking about how CBAs ensure procedures are applied consistently well these agents need to consistently follow AAs protocol and not make up rules as they go along. And I talked to other agents in MIA that said many dislike the union organizer for MIA maybe that contributed to their loss

700 will the International Association of Management apologists and scabs hold a drive?

When you include those who sat on their hands, CWA only managed to get the support of 27% of the employees eligible to vote.

Curious that only 56% of the agents & reps voted, assuming the 10,600+ number on the NMB's site is accurate.

What is pathetic is the money AA Management spent to prevent this vote. Looks like a simple ballot in the beginning would have saved $$ in legal fees. But not the path of the arrogant fools. Of course since we gave up pay, benefits, pensions, medical, and work rules, there is plenty of cash to burn.

Do they have a " Me Too "?.....Probably not? Would they have negotiated one if the CWA got in?.....Probably! So what have they gained ? NADA! So what have they lost?...... alot!, but only time will tell as more and more positions are contracted out.

BTW...some station agent didnt know that positions were contracted till the contract personnel appeared the next day at their stations.. Education is non-exsistant at the station level.

Perhaps. But some might see the money as well spent, since the union didn't win...

Again, 27% interest.

They needed 35% support for an election under the old rules.

Either CWA managed to lose 8% of their initial supporters along the way, or they didn't actually have enough cards in the first place.

Correct there was never 50% to begin with so why waste legal fees to see obvious result? Dumbasses
