We'll try to keep all of our union discussions regarding pilots here for the week. Let's see how it goes.

Happy Holidays all, and fly safe.

Richard

Now that your attrition based arguement was blown out of the water by the government last week, what will it be now??

If I may be so bold:

It will be whatever it needs to be to prevent the award from ever seeing the light of day. For however long it takes.

We don't have a modification to our resolve in any respect. Seniority is that important. I know that's hard for you guys to understand. But you will figure it out someday.

On second thought, no you won't. And it really doesn't matter what you think anyhow.

Next question?

Oh, they understand very well what seniority is all about. That is why they want ours so bad. Isnt that right Spanky?

Imho: That degree of dark desperation isn't fitting for the Christmas season...a time for spiritual renewal. I'd suggest more simple joy just for being alive, and less concern with what St Nic won't ever bring you.

They had nothing much to barter with anyway. Where else could you find guys with 17 years of service sitting reserve on the 737 in the right seat! Hmmm. Some seniority that is! The attrition card is done and the tears in their teflon-tight "solidarity" is growing by the day. I mean, what other pilot group in this industry can you see so many examples of foot shooting as you can with these guys on the east? How do you think these guys will be doing five years from now with no attirtion and the LOA 93 payrates? Oh, and their bankrupt union assessing them a few thousand a year for legal fees to boot. This show is just getting started AWA320!

I imagine the America West guys working over Christmas and away from their families wonder why the guys who were hired before them are home and enjoying the holiday.

Allow me to explain it to them: They were hired before you so they are senior to you. And since they are senior to you they bid a better line of time. And since they are senior enough for a better line of time they can outbid you and be at home for Christmas. This, in a nutshell, is what seniority is. And it is based on the date you were hired at America West. Or Delta, US Airways, Northwest, Continental, etc............

You see fellas, seniority is how things work in the airline business. And if you think any East pilot is going to give up a freakin' day of it because of a flawed ALPA policy and an old man who chose to ignore it you might as well wait up for Santa and see if he can make it down the chimney. Because you have a better chance of seeing that than you do seeing Nic implemented.

Assuming your date of hire seniority allows you to have Christmas Eve off and be at home for the jolly old fella.

"Where else could you find guys with 17 years of service sitting reserve on the 737 in the right seat! Hmmm. Some seniority that is!" Yepper...17 years isn't any "seniority" I guess...sigh. It's clear that the most reasonable thing's to just plug some awa new hire into their positon, or better yet!..permanently above them!!..yeah..that makes sense..in some perverse antechamber of hell. I wonder what sort of math you use to balance your checkbook

"The attrition card is done and the tears in their teflon-tight "solidarity" is growing by the day." Pass me some of that Alpo koolaide stuff willya? Aw..nevermind..I've had a a quarter century or more of it allready  Sigh..I know it's hopeless...we'll never even get 200 cards, much less ever file for decert, and we've no chance at ditching the mighty Alpo...The NICStar's the ultimate power in the universe and cannot ever be successfully attacked...etc/ad nasueum. Anything the least bit original to actually offer up? 😉 You were on a more amusing roll when bragging about beating up presumably much smarter kids in junior high 😉

"How do you think these guys will be doing five years from now with no attirtion and the LOA 93 payrates?" As if, oh great prophet..you have the tiniest inkling of what 5 years hence will be like for anyone, including yourself. One nice thing in any case though = We'd always be able to shave without looking away from the mirror in disgust. Then too; should this place maintatin as it is..and some serious downturns occur.....that same loa93 would mean that any huge fleet reductions will come from your side.

As far as "attrition" goes? You would have to take that up with all the "upgrades" recently back to the left seat, and our soon to be new hires for a different viewpoint.

Merry Christmas

I'll change my American dollars for your Mexican Pesos. Get the hint? The rest of the industry does... your "seniority" is worthless. Where else can you work for 18 years and be furloughed? Some "value" huh bub.

Great points all.. While we're at it: Exactly WHAT makes YOUR date of hire, or "relative" seniority worth spit? WHY should YOU be considered as having the least bit of personal worth at ANY level then?...much less "entitled" to even "relative" ANYTHING? If you blinked out of existence this second "your" job that awa fantasy mandates that "you brought"would still exist...Have YOU some/ANY awesome personal attributes and/or notable skills that you've thus far successfully managed to completely hide from these boards? 😉

You should have told everybody that your signature was good only in the event you got exactly what you wanted, didn't anyone teach you guys any etiqutte? Jeez. I've got Christmas off to, bfd.
