ALPA/USAPA topic of the week

I am concerned (frightened) that there are a lot of unanswered questions.
Alpa IMHO has screwed this pilot group over and over, your Alpa brothers wanted you out of business (Delta), your national reps are making 500,000 a year, with a pension. All the big Alpa carriers took 40% plus pay cuts, lost there pensions. What did national do NOTHING, they could have taken at least a 20% paycut in show of support and lowered or dues to 1% till things got better. USAPA is the only way to go.!!! Your right the future is uncertian but we know what happened in the past. (28 yr former Alpa member)

One need only ask one question, because all else will flow irreversibly from it.

"Do you want a union that believes in a free democracy, or do you want a union that believes it must manipulate its members for their own good?"

It could never be more clear that this is exactly your choice on March 20th.

And with the bureaucracy of ALPA out of our way real progress can be made in the implementation of Nicolau...No more Blue Ribbon Committees, Concerned Pilot Commitees, MEC Chair crewroom visits and lock down retreats during Super Bowl Sunday to get in our way.
The seniority issue was efficiently decided by the arbitration system and now the West pilots will be given the opportunity to take implementation issues directly to the judge. ALPA has been the East's biggest supporter during this debacle and it is so nice of you guys to get them out of our way.

NEWS FOR CHANGE

March 4, 2007

As we recognize the 2 1/2 year anniversary of the US Airways and America West merger, ALPA has still not been able to produce a contract or put a dime in the US Airways pilot’s pockets.

USAPA is the PILOTS CHOICE

I don't care what side you are on, USAPA is winning the information campaign hands down. ALPA should figure out who USAPA has running their strategic communications campaign and think about hiring them. ALPA is getting their butts handed to them.

Stop blaming other people, for your predicament.

USAPA believe the true purpose of any pilot union is to support its pilots first and only. We have requested that the ALPA MEC Chairman inform USAPA on the level of MEC cooperation that he anticipates through the transition period, and we are standing by for a reply to that request.

We would not be here if ALPA adopted this philosophy>

Don't you mean:

"USAPA believe the true purpose of any pilot union is to support the East pilots first and only"

It is not clear that you understood the post you responded to.

The predicament is not mine. ALPA is the one who finds itself at a terrible loss in the information war. Unless they develop an allegiance to the ideals of a free democracy they will continue to be trounced in the information battle. And frankly if they choose to ignore their losses, or choose to attempt to blame others for their predicament as you might say, then I am all for that.

They have more brains and balls than this crowd.
In our countries history, brains have not won wars that deal with oppression, balls will win out all the time.

If you are referring to brains in the same sentence as alpa, you are wrong. People with brains think independently of one another.

Yes, when the majority is back in power. alpa is the very reason we were not unified and the very reason why the majority will soon become unified.

The majority has always been in charge (East) and has typically been stupid. USAPA won't change that, with the exception of the fact that it's a rather transparent attempt to right (Nicolau) what stupid already brought once. (or, "you still won't get DOH," as the saying goes). A little bit of thought would go a long way--unfortunately, the Angry First Officer from Cranberry Club (tm) won't allow that to happen. And, when it's all said and done, they are still going to end up with Nicolau (worst case) or another arbitration that does not use DOH as the standard (best case). Will stupid ever learn?

ALPA did not ratify LOA 93. ALPA did not elect a MEC that gave away your pension.

Care to speculate what prompted National to bring Beebe (AAA MEC Chairman) up to the ivory palace?
