Well it looks like the time has come for the mechanics at Usairways to follow the leader. The bar has been lowered so low that any union to replace the iam would succeed. Let the scare tactics begin. If you vote out the iam there will be no airbus heavy maintenance work in house, will be the first one!! There has been no information to the membership regarding the airbus work since june 30 when agc bill LIEberger denied the company was trying to contract it out. Thats just the beginning. Times are a changin and Usairways is up next. Don''t worry junior agc''s, I hear its easy to commute out of Phl.

Does anyone have a reliable estimate of the amount of cards signed?? Hopefully
you all at USAir will join the rest of AMFA represented carriers.

This is just like voting to accept the concessionary contracts all unions voted for, when the dust settled we realized we made a BIG mistake accepting any concessions at all because the company is ignoring and or inventing meanings to the contracts that don’t exist. There were obviously a ton of yes votes and why we find ourselves where we do. This time around this yes voter will be a no voter against AMFA. This action plays right into the hands of a company that has no regard for its employees or the contracts it signed, and given AMFA’s track record this is just as they say jumping right into the fire from the frying pan where we will all get our asses burnt!

I hope the IAM is booted out soon. Looks like the United mechanics were not confused in their voting !!!

AMFA''s track record? How many times did they force their members to revote the exact same offer that was over 90% a tentative agreement? NEVER!! You are obviously one of the CONFUSED ones. Luckily for the rest of us your only one vote and there will be only one vote. I believe Usaiways is somewhere in the very high 50% range and it will only be a matter of time before our informational meetings begin. Now that UAL ousted the iam the only logical move would be for us to show em the door next. Their main goal at usair will be to fight off amfa with LIES and deceit, when they should be building a case against the company for dragging its feet and not gearing up for the airbus work. Let the games begin. The scare tactics that swung the 2nd vote will not work to save the lowly iam. They will be history soon at usair. I am hoping for an early X-mas present.

So you''re saying local 1976 is no longer IAM?

You better inform them to update their site then.

actually the vote is over..the only problem is that you were not awake when the results came in. The next day of your life is tomorrow. The last day is when you closed your eyes to tomorrow. Now let''s get on with it!

This is indeed fine news! This is the way democracy and unionism should work: allow people to vote for their future. I can only hope this gives a boost to the efforts at USAirways and we find ourselves voting in the near future on whether to keep the (worthless) IAM or to go forward with representation that recognizes the contributions of the professional mechanic.

GO AMFA!!!
