Put this under the "interesting" and FYI tags:

The JetBlue MC's are getting the same investigator as the AA Mechanic and Related has Bautista. Maybe her schedule just cleared up to take on the JB groups filing? Hmmmm.
In hopes that she's ready to put out the ruling for the AA'ers and move on with the JB's MC's filing for AMFA representation.

It's only 28 controllers. She'll be able to knock that out by the end of the day.

Then it's back to that fustercluck they call "The Association"

Make ya wonder as it's now 16 days past last (final, hopefully) deadline.
This is beyond ridiculous...
It's not ridiculous, it's highly political. The newest member of the three panel member is a former attorney for the IAM.
It can't get more political and in your face than that. I know we have more than enough cards. I know that for a ruling to take this long is to find a way to deny us a representational vote. From what we already know there are two ways that we will not get AMFA. The first is that the NMB will throw out cards for whatever reason they see fit. The second reason is we get past this NMB dragged out process and get a vote and the membership votes against change and stays with the current association.

If this is actually true, he should remove himself from the panel and ask another person to sit in his place. Just like Judges and attorneys do when there is a conflict of interest bearing within the case they are to rule on. If not, I do smell a great reason for an appeal route in AMFA's favor IF there are shenanigans that might play out that would reject some sigs for ridiculous reasons.
So a former attorney for the IAM huh? How long ago?? Doesn't really mean he will favor the IAM side. Hell, he may have a grudge against the IAM for some reason or another, you never know.
You just can't make this crap up...

Ok so a letter or memo is coming out of local 562 in Texas. The president is suggesting or pushing for a card drive solely for TWU representation and remove the IAM and Association. Funny how this desperate move comes to try to persuade the members to not vote for AMFA because our well respected and trusted TWU leadership says we can legally do this. Well follow the link and pay attention to the second paragraph. According to the AFL-CIO you can not.

Exerpt:

"What is so hard about changing unions?"

First, if you are in an AFL-CIO affiliated union, then you run into the AFL-CIO’s “no raiding” rule: no AFL-CIO union can take on the members of another AFL-CIO union for at least a year after the workers leave their old union. This means you can not just switch from CWA, for example, to the Machinists. Instead, you would have to join an existing independent union or form a new union and wait a year before affiliating with the Machinists or some other AFL-CIO union.

So according to our beloved TWU leadership the TWU (AFL-CIO affiliated) will take over the IAM (AFL-CIO affiliated).
Don't fall for it. If this plan is successful then they will say sorry we can't do this because it violates the AFL-CIO rules.

Could it be an attempt to cause confusion for the members in order to muffle up yet another attempt to get an election done by the "members"?
The AFL-CIO should be stepping in IF this letter or memo does come out. They (TWU) should NOT encourage any members to go against the AFL-IO rules and regs. But as we all know the TWU, they will do anything to stay existing in this industry. More games to be played and it will all fall onto the members laps.

I heard that one of the TWU Locals was putting in a Constitutional amendment that if the TWU was going to form an Association/Alliance or whatever you want to call it like they did with the IAM, that it would require a membership vote, and they were also going to attempt to dissolve the Association. Could they do that? Most like more chest thumping trying to look tough for members? The NMB just needs to hurry up and come out with the decision already.

If the TWU is allowed to do this with an amendment change this will affect every AFL-CIO affiliated union. Way too much money involved here on union dues. It's a desperate attempt to convince or brainwash the membership to vote No for AMFA and then have this deceiving plan go down in flames and then the TWU can say sorry we tried.
