The company lays out their reasoning for abrogation for APA, APFA and the last two TWU groups.

Page 13 #34. Contrary to Union intimations, American is committed to its standalone Business Plan etc.

How can the company be forced to a merger?

A merger could be forced if US convinces the Unsecured Creditors Committee that its plan (merge US and AA) would provide the creditors with more value than a standalone plan.

US was unable to convince the DL creditors - but perhaps US will be more convincing this time around with AA's creditors.

Let's hope they are better at it the second time around. It's time to get rid of the losers running this company into the ground! They expect us to forget the raping and pillaging of the very generous employees. I guess if your ego is that big, you do think you can do whatever you want. Problem is that we say NO! I hope Doug shows up with a truck load of boxes from PHX with all ~900 "special" managers and up's names on them. Good riddance!

Why are you so confident in the USAir leadership? They're still battling the unions from a merger 7 years ago! It's going to be more of the same, perhaps worse with other unions especially the IAM involved. Not a huge loss for me, but you guys here have a vested interest in AA successs, my only interest is my lifetime AAdvantage Gold status and outstanding mileage balance.

In paragraph 13 on page 5 of the document (page 14 of the .pdf), this jumped out at me:

13. Other factors affecting the industry have taken their toll on American. These
include the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2011, which immediately led to a tremendous
decrease in passenger demand. Kasper Decl. ¶ 23; 4/23 Tr. (Kasper) 138:6-19.

Idiots.

Yes, it's just a typo, but it's also a very recognizable and tragic date that will be burned into the memory of everyone connected with aviation for the rest of their lives. If they can't type "September 11, 2001" without screwing that up and without seeing it when they proofread the document, how many other numbers did they screw up?

Come and walk a day in my shoes and you will be even more amazed. And "idiots" will then become a word of compliment after you view what I see daily.

Never said I was confident in their management, just that AA's is downright disastrous! At this point, anything that shows up with a plan is better than what the "winners" on Amon Carter are spewing. I would prefer to work for a company with a plan to thrive, not one that has a plan that will fail. That's all. If it is USAirways, fine. If it is Delta, Alaska, JetBlue or Virgin America, so be it. At this point, we are failing and all they want to do is continue "kicking the can" down the road and continue to bail the water out of the sinking ship. That sort of plan doesn't inspire confidence. They can't seem to grasp the inevitable, we will merge. AA is too small and the egos involved are too blind to admit they failed. They want to kill all the unions and put the screws to the rest of the workers so as to increase their bargaining power when any merger arrives to increase their severance. I mean at this point none of them can really think they will be kept around and continue to be employed in the future. I'm sure they do, but that isn't reality.

Again, just my opinion.

Yea. Here is AA-Okay now that all of our employees are disgruntled and pissed off and productivity is zero who wants to merge with us?

That makes sense!

The document mentions how USAir has gone through 2 bankruptcies and went to labor FOUR times for concessions. Is that really better?

What you need to understand is once you tell a group of people that if you will just give us concessions we will let you keep your pensions and retiree medical we will not outsource your work, and we will all share in the sacrifice. Now you and I know it was unlikely they could pull this off and as a bunch of us said at the time we would have been better off in BK. So anyway you look at it they made a mistake going down this road and not sharing in the sacrifice by taking all their bonuses. Today they have a work force who does not trust a single thing they say and is prepared to forfeit seniority and job security to install new leadership, if the BOD had any sense they would get rid of all the upper managment and bring in a new team.

With concessions master IAM this shouldn't come as a surprise, I guess the members that have given extensive concessions should be glad they retained their seniority! IAM started the 2002 concessions train at USAir, gave the company exactly what they wanted then came back for two more rounds.

Josh

Funny US only took three rounds of concessions, two in the first chapter 11 and one in the second.

Strike two of misinformation from AA.

Josh why do you constantly lie?

AA took concessions as far back as 1983.

And how many times do I have to explain to you that ALL the unions at US were forced to negotiate concessions or face contract abrogations when US filed Chapter 11?

For someone who is in the banking industry, you have no clue.

And AA, got concessions from APA, APFA and the TWU in 2003 without AA being in chapter 11.

Dont let the facts get in your way.

Every airline union had to give concessions when the respective airline filed chapter 11, either being consenual (I use that term loosely) or have it forced upon by the courts.

US Air?

They didnt exist in 2002, that would be US Airways since 1995.

this is our second round of concessions. the problem with aa is that they could not be honest if they woke up tomorrow and swore on a stack of bibles they would try, that would be there first lie of the day.....
