No wonder airlines give lousy service. They treat their fellow industry peers like --ap. Sitting in the gate area C-2 for 4825 LGA - XNA on the 12th a pilot showed up with 10 minutes to go before departure but I could hear agent say the flight has been closed out.

Now , I know that gate agent could have lead the pilot down the jetway but no. They didn't pull jetway for another 3 minutes. SHAME on that agent for being such a loser. I'd imagine his experience will "get around" the industry circles.

Whadda' ya expect from Eagle? Those people aren't interested in doing anything other than checking their flight to SDQ,PUJ, KIN or BGI.

Not a good time (if there ever was one) to sell Eagle.....

Selling A/E....would be the MOTHER of ALL AA mistakes !!

I predict that those "needle nosed micro-jets" won't be around much longer.

A/E plus Ejets/Cjets can be a VERY lucrative proposition for AMR, as it pertains to the low yield $ Domestic situation.

Believe me been there-went stl dca lga had 30 minute connect time plane landed 30minutes early i thought great have even more time to make lga flt. But no plane at gat sat 30 min in dca penalty box. Got to the gate 15min b4 flight agent said flight was light had to close it early. I said but the gate is still hooked up how about a break its the last flight to nyc?I got a sorry see you tommorrow-Myonly answer was TWA wouldnt do this to there own and he said your right.I thought you p--ck.100 dollar hotel that night.

'Flight was light, had to close it early'? I guess when English isn't the native tongue it'll take you that extra time to close the flight out.

I'd love to send ICE through the Eagle employee areas sometime...

A lot of DFW commuters to Eagle stations have that complaint. They say it isn't so bad at the outstations since they know most of the employees, but at the hubs, they close the flights out realy early.

for an airline that has one of the WORST ontime percentages in the industry, Eagle is way too bad about closing flights early with connecting passengers on the way.

I have to say that morale of employees at A.E. is extremely low at the moment. Who can blame them, they have a bleak and uncertain future ahead of them. Leadership from management is practically non-existant. Flights are routinely late, cancellations are commonplace.
I have worked for both AA and AE and there is a notable difference in the way each company is run. I really can't see how anyone would seriously want to buy AE in its current state. AMR really needs to sort out this mess and if they are really serious about selling AE (which I doubt ) make it into an airline that may create some positive interest in the industry. All it is getting at the moment is a huge amount of negative......

ILeadership from management is practically non-existant.

Maybe that is because they are American Airlines employees who are just at Eagle to pad their resumes to move up farther at A/A. God help you when that happens because they have Eagle so screwed up at the moment that it is beyond belief.

I couldn't agree more !! Just as an example, look at the way that the collapse of the "letter 3 flowthrough agreement" for pilots has been handled, an absolute shambles.....

The sooner AMR gets rid of AE, the better. As far as Ejets at AE, forget it. No more concessions on scope. Tired of all the stupid lawsuits from AE ALPA trying to horn into AA mainline. AE ALPA has burned-up what little goodwill was left between the two pilot groups. If AE is so great, then they go it on their own and make tons of money and AA can buy whatever commuter feed it needs (within the scope agreement) at a competitive price from others. Even AA management has figured this out now.

I thought the APA's position was to fold Eagle in and not to sell it?

How many commuter/regional/feeder airlines out there fall within the current SCOPE guidelines? They almost all have 70 or 90 seaters.

Sorry, but APA's scope clause is outdated. Instead of placing restrictions on what AMR can contract for, they have limits on what the feeder is allowed to operate. That's bullshite. Republic had to create a separate certificate just to be in compliance with the APA scope clause. Aside from GLUX, there's nobody else left who isn't operating 70+ seaters.

What a feeder does under contract for another company should have absolutely no bearing on the scope clause limits for aircraft size. The only thing that should matter are aircraft under contract with AMR.

It sounds like to even sell Eagle and replace it with another carrier would require a SCOPE concession, which is out of the question.

On the other hand, maybe if they got both Great Lakes and Colgan, they could replace Eagle's 300 planes and 1700 daily flights without causing any operational difficulties.
