[/list]I'm trying to figure out how the two offers would have the same fiscal result, while one had 65% more retained employees. Something does not add up.

Contracting out to vendors isn't cheap!

Michael,

If you add up the company's final offer it is worth $500,000,000 not $252,000,000 like they claim, the headcount reduction alone is over $200,000,000.

The financial expert costed out the whole final offer from the company it it is worth over $500,000,000.

It was done using the total costed out rates for employees, the pension and all the other cuts involved.

But worth over $500M to whom? In other words, if there were $500M less going in the direction of IAM-represented employees, that doesn't necessarily constitute a net savings to the company of $500M. Whenever the company is moving IAM-performed work to a subcontractor, the savings to the company is less than the dollar reduction to IAM-represented employees.

It included the cost of outsourcing the work. It also included the elimination of the spare parts, inventory and their associated costs.

The $200 Million figure is wages, benefits and pension costs that the company will be free of due to the reduction in headcount.

do you mean frank SCHIFANO, bill FRYBURGER,john O'CRYSCO AND THE OTHER RATS.

Once again 700UW and delldude show how ignorant they are. You two can't post without getting ignorant. When somebody disagrees with you, you get nasty. I'm not going to lower myself to your level. I'll just put you both on ignore like the rest of the board should. People don't waste your time with these two. Good ridance. I won't be seeing your posts anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still no employees that saw the propsal will post the highlights? Nope didn't think so it does not exist.

Contact a General Chairman, Negotiating Committee member or Grievance Committeemen who conducted a ratification vote, they all have a copy.

It was made available to every Mechanic and Related Member who attended a ratification vote.

At the time of the vote? What happened to educated the membership and giving them time to make a decision? Maybe the time was gone from the "Concession Stand is Closed" stnace the union took, all the while any reasonable person knew more concessions were coming one way or another.

Go back and read the timeline.

The company's final offer given to the NC at 9:15PM on 1/6/05, the membership had it in their hands on 1/8/05 and the latest was 1/10/05.

The ratification votes were held on 1/17/05 and 1/18/05, that gave 7 or 8 days for the membership to read the final offer and note any questions they had to be asked and formulate how they would vote.

The membership was not voting on the IAM's proposal of 1/5/05, there were voting on the company's final offer.

There was a copy of the IAM's proposal to the company at each ratification, but like I said, that was not being voted on, the company's final offer was.

Still doesn't answer the question why if it exists is it being treated like it is some confidential top secret proposal not fit for anyones eyes exept IAM members being escorted by armed guards.
