AUG/SEPT 2012 US Pilots Labor Discussion

If it's not about relative seniority and not about DOH then what is it about? Final and binding arbitration regardless of one's desires? As it should be. You appear to be one of the minority of east pilots who have had a relatively good career there. Do you resent a west pilot with similar relative seniority yet less LOS being placed near you on the seniority list?

Serious questions. I respect the fact that you will abide by Silver's decisions. I just wish the east pilots had abided by their agreements in the first place.

I normally don't "mass group" anyone but do admit that I have had discussions with very few east pilots who want to do the right thing and the events of the past five years are proof that the majority of east pilots don't.

Ames, IMHO, it can't be DOH. I understand relative seniority, I understand LOS. It has to be some commonality. Unfortunately, I feel Nicolau blew it. And no, I have NO resentment towards west pilots with less LOS being placed near me on the seniority list. My statements had to do with the one pilot who wasn't placed accordingly (even to Nicloau's thinking). I understand your concerns and your arguments. And I have mine. It's a sad situation it has come to this. I've had no faith in the leadership of this airline for a long time. I can say the same for USAPA as well.

If the shoe was on the other foot and the west pilots felt he "blew it" there would have been no USAPA, no Seeham, no dragging through the courts. The fact that the east forced it's opinion in opposition to the agreed-to arbitration, due solely to it's majority, is what has caused all this mess. There is no defensible stand when the majority decides to subjugate the minority to get their way.

Wake's injunction should have stood, IMHO, as the intent to disenfranchise the west through covert means (delaying a Nic-inclusive contract to perpetuate the status quo, through outlandish sideshows such as the Safety Campaign, needless RICO distractions and endless appeals) has just as much a negative impact on the west as overtly promoting their DOH list and trying to ramrod it through to a certain DFR defeat. The Silver Lining, as it were, will be when the court tells US that they will be on the hook for conspiring with USAPA if they accept a list that is not the NIC, even of it was a staple of the east pilots.

Who said it can't go back that way? It is a quoted methodology for integration. Allegheny/Mohawk. Just because things got away from the way the rest of the ENTIRE airline with exception of the pilots merged doesn't mean we shouldn't fix it.

Living in the past and destined to stay there. No one wants to go back to DOH except you eastholes so I doubt it will ever happen. Try to at least start living in the present.

That's among the most utterly ridiculous tidbits of completely insane nonsense yet printed here. It's once again (and as usual) painfully obvious that little or no study of history and philosophy was ever undertaken by some here. Here's just one little consideration you completely and conveniently avoid: What if the minority's sick little agenda is entirely wrong? If you can't immediately recall at least a dozen or more examples from history where the minority was clearly not only wrong but downright evil....then....well....I must necessarily wonder if you actually think at all...or are even capable of doing so....

That sounds truly trendy, heck!...way cool even!, and I'd normally just love to join you in your brave little new world...but...methinks I'll have to respectfully decline, and thus forgo the clearly required surgical removal of both my moral structure and frontal lobes. 😉

You are correct because you didn't have the majority to pull it off. BUT, I bet you would have used the dual ratification of the T/A to the max.

The entire issue could have been avoided if the dumbest of all, McIlvenna had not been involved. He was repeatedly warned by ALPA about exactly where you are today. He had not the foggiest idea about how non binding the Nic is, and they knew absolutely. It will all be clear shortly and the truth about McIlvennas' Blunder will be historical footnote. ALPA made it crystal clear, McIlvenna is the reason ALPA is gone on your property.

You have neither the authority nor the ability to "correct" anything.

No, the first step was the removal of ALPA. That opened the door you cannot close now. The process started years ago. It will end with Silver.
You railed for years about Cleary. McIlvenna was the enemy among you you never were smart enough to identify. He cost you everything. ALPA and then the NICOLAU.

When is the next Leonidas comic book coming out? You kids almost persuaded us with the last one. Give it another try.

The best part about a merger with American is that our careers won't be tied to guys like claxon, phoenix, and luvthe9.
