Are you sure about that? There seems to be no lack of emotional lighter fluid among the APA either. The problem with the east was they tried using gasoline instead of lighter fluid.

You could be right, I don't think they can be worse than what we got now.

The best part about a merger with American is that our careers won't be tied to guys like claxon, phoenix, and luvthe9.

If you mean we won't be held hostage any more I agree. This repetitive dialog is getting old.

Claxon, Phoenix, & Luv: Give us DOH or we'll keep seperate ops.

West: No

Claxon, Phoenix, & Luv: Give us DOH or you'll never see a new contract.

West: You're on LOA 93, No

Claxon, Phoenix, & Luv: We're going to win in court and get huge raises, you better give us DOH or you'll be sorry.

West: No

Claxon, Phoenix, & Luv: You're going to be sold off, you better give us DOH, if you don't the American pilots will just give it to us and you'll be sorry.

West: No........you need to be drug tested.

If you are making up a report card, let's just keep the list going.

BA code share: fumbled

LOA 93: fumbled

DB Plan: fumbled

NIC: fumbled

MOU: fumbled

We don't need the company or anyone else to do us in. We are quite competent at doing ourselves in.

Will be interesting to see if the AA pilots are slapped with an injunction like we were. Whether you are for or against USAPA, the rules of engagement between labor and management are definitely skewed in favor of the latter. If the former CEO of Bain Capital wins the election, Lord help organized labor.

All the more reason to not have emotional amateurs handling the union. Dump USAPA and get some adults in there who can accomplish something besides embarassing and hobbling us.

Do you have some specifiic names in mind? and a realistic timeline to acheive your stated goal? and the efficacy of attempting this on the verge of a merger and the dissolution of USAPA anyway?

ALL,

Some Aug/Sep 2005 perm bid (east) data from our prolific BoeingBoy.

#'s below exclusive of furloughs

Retirements:

2008 - 134
2009 - 169
2010 - 184
2011 - 173

" Going any further than that is probably pointless. Of course, some of the furloughed hopefully will return to active status ( I guess you could say some already are active flying the Emb-170 ) , the disability numbers could & probably will change ( though the number on disability is slowly growing as the pilot group ages, and people go to/return from supervisory" BB quote

Wonder if BB will again attempt insult by relaying his 2005 data?
Anyways.....looks like upward movement will begin soon 🙂

No, the first step was the removal of ALPA. That opened the door you cannot close now. The process started years ago. It will end with Silver.
You railed for years about Cleary. McIlvenna was the enemy among you you never were smart enough to identify. He cost you everything. ALPA and then the NICOLAU.

Wrong as usual. McIlvenna was pushing us to compromise until we made it clear to him that the time for negotiation had passed and he had better uphold the arbitrator's decision.

And if Obama wins, Lord help the rest of the country.

This election is ANOTHER lose-lose.

Then you and your compadres are as responsible as anyone else for the last 6+ years.

Pay attention. There is only one legal path ahead. The company makes an offer and the pilots vote on it. There is no other way.

We can spar against each other, for five years or more... We can spar against each other about what the company should offer us in a contract, but nothing will change the fact that the only way to a new contract is for the pilots to vote on a company proposal. Chew on them cookies. That's the facts.

I disagree. That was a rigged arena, and the west was under duress. It was placed there not of it's own volition. The east was already starting to flex it's numerical muscle, and it was aided and abetted by ALPO national. I figured we'd end up with usapa, and we did. I worried that the bigger hammer would work. But I couldn't see just giving in, not in the way it was handled. That's my version of standing up for what I believe in.

Put me on fair and equal footing, and then you can accuse me of being unreasonable, but not after the way that went down. At least that's how I see it.
