You did. But not before I responded. You added that on an edit, which is fine. I edit my posts all the time.

I don't think any arbitration panel is going to disregard the final and binding work of a highly respected colleague.

If it goes to a 3 way I predict the first thing the MB arbitration panel will do is combine the East and West list to reflect the Nicolau Award.

Don't ever lose proper respect for yourselves....Umm...Although you west folk "might" want to stop a bit short of being self-styled "spartans" and "knights, who've fought with valor in many battles". 😉

Good advice for the west. See, we lost respect for ourselves many years ago. That lack of self-respect got us LoA93 and allowed us to dump $8 million into a lawyer whose promised amounted to be nothing more than snake oil. It also allowed us to elect some of the lowest class of filth to lead us in our fight against the Nicolau. One slept with a lawyer and "lost" his laptop. One is now suing his own union for back pay and trademark infringement, and another is now living in a Cancun vacation home funded by FPL. And all three are out on medical.
So yes, don't ever lose respect for yourselves. You'll end up justifying why you stayed on a bankruptcy contract for a decade and do it with a twinkle in your eye.
You've got about a month and a half left of USAPA and your battle will have been won. The west never lost respect for themselves and are now about to see it pay out.

The arbitration was not a disaster. The results were not a disaster.

The disaster has been you east pilots and your actions after. That has nothing to do with an arbitrator.

I find it interesting that you project your opinion onto other people. The Nicolau is very similar to other awards. If ours was such a disaster it would be the only one of its kind.

Placing furloughed pilots below active pilots is not a disaster. Placing capts with capts, that is not a disaster.

The biggest disaster was your career prior to the merger. 17 years got you furloughed. That is a disaster.

In your opinion it's not a disaster, but by the standards of what has happened in it's wake it is. The east was not going to accept it if they didn't have to, period. You are locked into the method.

I've shown you evidence where another respected arbitrator said he couldn't do what Nicolau did because it was unjust.

My career wasn't a disaster. I've had a better career than had I gone to AWA in 1986 and that's a FACT.

Did I say "I predict"?

You're losing it, my friend.

I'm losing it? That's kind of harsh isn't it. First Snappy, now you.

I simple pointed to what I see as a flaw in your logic. I ASKED if you'd talked to an arbitrator because maybe you had. But, my point was that although we are all pilots we don't always hold up the actions of our fellow pilots and more often when they screw up we say so.

Nicolau screwed up. The outcome makes it clear. it didn't have to be DOH or LOS, but he created a disaster.

We screwed up when Nicolau said "Both sides need to reconsider their positions" and we said "No".

We got less tha we should have but it's due to our own actions.

And you say that I'm on edge?

Oh the times they are a changin. Just heard from a very reliable source that the west will be recalling the furloughed pilots and the west pilots flying on the east will be transferred back to the west. Quickly.

It seems that the companies scheme to run the west lean and pump up the east has backfired. Now the east controlled flt. Ops has gotten caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

Those of you crowing about Dave O'Dells sprint up the east seniority list, it might not be so meteoric when the growth stops on the east and the company just lets the attrition bring the east back to more reasonable numbers. While the west gets the new hires to cover the flying in PHX.

You eastie that were dreaming of a holding a line could enjoy reserve a little longer then you thought. But you know all good things must come to an end. Things are going to change fast around here and after eight years of benefiting from this merger you easties are not going to like it when you get left behind in the next merger. You are not going to like that separate ops thing when the rest of the bases are growing and you are shrinking.

Nicolau did not create the disaster. You east pilots did.

I just spoke with one of your west pilots out here in PHL. He goes back to the west mid-September.

I have to wonder just how many people know what is in the sealed court docs and negotiations discussions ordered by Silver.

I also have to wonder what promises LCC has made to the APA about one of their crew bases i.e. DCA.

They'll never see it that way. They're much happier to delude themselves that there is a phantom menace victimizing them.

We agree on something. Most of us will never see it that way, but it's not delusion. I have another arbitratior and the words of Jeff Koontz to back up my position, what do you have AF/O?

BTW, going to leave your cubicle behind and come back?

That's great news for everyone if true. I'd heard that with the constraints of the TA gone the west block hour requirement could be flown with fewer pilots after POR so they were trying to get along with what they had during the summer. If your source is correct it might mean they have no plans to shrink PHX and that's good for all of us.
