Not sure where you are getting the "taste of what the west had" part. It is a given that with every merger hiring stops and things generally stand still for a bit while the consolidation happens. Everybody on the east knew that as soon as the AA deal was announced last year. Most here have seen it at least 2 times before, some have seen 4 or 5. However I presume the only exposure you have had with it is the US/AWA abortion, which so far cannot be remotely considered as a merger, not for the pilot group anyhow, so I guess I can understand your confusion. Nothing unexpected happening that I have seen yet. It's a good move by Parker since according to Snap you guys are short of F/O's right now and its a good thing to get all the folks back prior to the POR so everybody is covered under the no furlough clause etc. That combined with the new rest rules kicking in January which everybody seems to agree will require more staffing to cover.I just gave back what I got.
One of you eastie was crowing about how Dave Odell was so much better on the east. How long have you guys been screaming about the stagnation on the west? Guess you don't have a problem when one of your says it.
I am pointing out that you easties are about to get a taste of what the west has had for eight years.
It is good news the the west pilots that should have never been furloughed are being recalled. It is also great news that the west is finally going to participate in this merger after all this time.
