Don't confuse courage with stupidity.
See, you'd be lost without me.

Out of business..?I know I'm biased, because I'm west, but I have to disagree. Putting it simply, seniority at an airline that goes out of business is worthless.

Wonderful..Sigh! So..Got another set of "soon"s to offer up?...Or at least some more "T minus" countdown clocks to start running? 🙂
Well at least you admit it but history is cruel, and you want to jump the backs of those this govt has not been kind to!I know I'm biased, because I'm west, but I have to disagree. Putting it simply, seniority at an airline that goes out of business is worthless. I'm not taking a shot at the old US, I'm referring to US and American as standalones, facing a other airlines that were allowed to merge.

Out of business..?
Talk about drama, are you advocating more concessions to help DUI have yet an even more record breaking quarterly profit?
Get ahold of yourself.![]()

Living on borrowed time man up, it may happen, but what fun ha! MM!Hey, I'm having a meltdown here 🙂 Seriously, I was referring to long term stability.

I thought United wanted out and used it as an excuse. Just the same, I'll try and keep an open mind. I've had things in the past happen that seemed to be terrible at the time and turned out for the best down the road. I still think the DOJ is overstepping and completely out of line.

Well the current situation is not as the DOJ sees it, higher faires less competition, less employment, fewer tax revenue, Glass house oh we at USAIRWAYS EAST do not forget, just like you were to young to see! AMERICAN has management, and USAIRWAYS really needs it also, simplified! And it aint the DUI person at the helm now!Who cares? Glass houses? We were facing rising fuel prices and US was staring liquidation straight in the face. Water under the bridge. The current situation is that American needs management and we need size (simplified).

Great post, given the DOJ this is going to be a long drawn out affair, one has to only look at at the overall political climate of the DOJ and the dynamic this will be fun to watch!United wanted out and was praying that the DOJ would come through with a lawsuit to stop it. When the DOJ did, United simply walked away rather than fight it.
This time, Parker wants this way too bad to let it go, and he's the darling of the AA creditors committee, so they just might fight, or concede a lot of assets, to get this done.
If they had not run their drunken mouths (and emails,) this might have gone through a bit easier. Really great strategy to brag about how the merger will allow them to screw the traveling public AND labor.
On a side note how much do they have to give up that still doesn't violate covenets of agreements they made? Will judge LANE approve? will the creditors approve? Alot of unanswered questions! And what will the DOJ accept as asset sale to satisfy? More questions !United wanted out and was praying that the DOJ would come through with a lawsuit to stop it. When the DOJ did, United simply walked away rather than fight it.
