Nope, not at all...only the majority former AAA pilots can get themselves off LOA 93 and "to the promised land"!

As long as uscaba rejects the Nic, you are stuck. "No soup for you"!

The merger offered an out in the form of the MOU, but that also has Nic written all over it.

One more thing...I know you were not trying to get hired at AWA in the 80s.....but you were trying in 2001-2005. That is why Nic put you below your former fellow east pilots who did get hired at AWA in that time frame.

The NIC did not put any of us anywhere. My place on my list keeps creeping up monthly. And nobody gets a raise for a long time. The merger is toast, and we have at least another year of litigation going forward with the West class, maybe longer if Silver continues to contort the law. My family has decided to soldier on, business as usual. Getting our hopes and then seeing them squashed is normal here. And I don't even have to come here and complain about my low wages, you and other apparently well compensated West Class pilots take care of that for me every day here. RR

Wow nic4 everyone from 2001-2005 was looking for the gold ring with AWA! Come on you can do better than that. I know that Trans States and Mesa pipeline to AWA was like hitting the jackpot. I have to admit you guys were the envy of the industry. Growing and thriving every where you flew.

Who says nobody gets a raise for a long time?

You?

News flash......you and the other disgruntled malcontents are going to be in the minority pretty damn quick if this merger fails.

In the mean time, West is recalling, and from what I have read, the guys flying east are bidding back at a high ratio to get off that crap contract you and the other whiners have stuck yourselves on.

I did not say everyone. Just everyone who wanted a job at a major and did not have one. You know, like the 1800 furloughed AAA pilots?

Further, I did not say AWA was my dream job. You said that. But, I have said and will say again, I never wanted, applied or sought to work for that POS airline where you worked. That fact that I have to work with former AAA people since my airline bought theirs, well, that is okay most of the time, then again I have to put up with the scab union antics.

Bidding how? How does a West pilot working on the East "bid" back to the superior contract out West? I am asking, is there a new bid coming out in PHX? We have new hires showing up in the right seat of Group II aircraft, and 2 year pilots bidding C/O on the 190. I don't fly with enough of those guys to know, but the 3 I have flown with are happy as clams, and have no wish to return to the bottom of the heap in PHX, and fly with everyone on your "no fly list." As to West recalls, let's all hope that continues, nothing wrong with that at all. RR

Nic4,

I understand your anger! AWA was a great well respected outfit. I just can't figure out why I never sent my résumé to them.

Time to fess up then. Where was your "dream job", that you clearly couldn't manage to actually get? It's naturally axiomatic that you would've turned down Piedmont, PSA, or USAir in favor of AWA. Sheesh! You could at least pretend to be serious here. 😉

My dream job.......1970 ish Pan Am Clipper Skipper.

Either that or I did have thoughts of flying this flickrhivemind.net/Tags/n950pb/

I have a friend from my previous job who turned down a job at Piedmont two months after I got hired and went to work for AWA.

He's in the top 150 and has been a Check Airman for 15 years.

I had two AWA pilots in my new hire class.

I used the wrong term by saying bidding.

They are accepting recall. However, like most things that have happened, the company is lost as to what it says in the TA, and whether or not the 18 month locks apply, although they sure did not when we furloughed and uscaba helped east pilots in violation of the TA to be moved east out of seniority order.

You really screwed up couldn't daddy get you a job at AWA. you don't seem happy here, geez how junior are you "in my new hire class"

One thing for sure, there will be a mass exodus off the bottom of both lists when this merger tanks. Parker will have his hand full maintaining schedule. It is coming.
Ask any person on the property with a couple of years.

You're the one who doesn't seem too happy here, even when we were getting a 34% payraise.

How many days of LOA 93 pay until you retire?

If the merger fails, I don't think there will be an immediate mass exodus. Where are they going to go? Virgin? Spirit? Allegiant? Yeah, right. US has its problems, but it's way better than those places. I do agree there will eventually be one though. Once Delta, United, Southwest, and Alaska start up the hiring in a year or two. If by then there is no sign of a new contract, then yeah, you'll probably see the bottom pilots on the west and the east gone. That is unless USAPA accepts the Nic and moves on for a new contract. We all know how that's going. Baring that, management will be more than happy to keep the east on LOA93 and since apparently the east isn't hurting all that bad, it will be status quo. I'm just glad I've got several thousand 121 PIC, so I should be marketable, once the hiring kicks in. Who knows though, maybe the merger will go through 🙂

Bean, not trying to get into it with you, at all. But you mention, as have others, that the only way to get a contract stand alone is to use the Nic. Barring a court order, you will never, ever see a contract go out for a vote with the NIC in it. Once the Ninth has its say to the Company, they may or may not be willing to bargain. Since Parker just lost his "out" on this entire affair, I have no idea what they will do or not do seniority wise, rather what they will argue for in Section 22. But again, the NIC will never go out for a member vote. A contract with the NIC will never make it past the BPR. Look at the makeup of the current BPR. Never going to happen. RR
