August 2013 Pilot Discussion

I still say that if USAPA gave the west class status, neither the company nor Silver would object and the NMB would have no interest in obstructing what could be, at long last, a solution to this six year dispute.

Those of you who continue to spin the DOH or nothing approach as a sure USAPA victory, all I can say is, this will be the first one.

And RR, this conversation should be of no interest to you since the merger is dead, right?

The problem with your position is that, if USAPA gave the west class status, then there very well could be east pilots filing DFR suits against USAPA.

Sure, using the list you demanded, and they said simply, "NO"

I have not demanded anything other than fair representation.

I have a 6 year history of the scab unions failure in that regard. If the company would like to support the scab union in their effort, so be it.

BTW....um, who said NO?

The same folks who filed this....

The harsh reality is that over the last twelve years American lost $10.3 billion and US Airways lost $3.4 billion. US Airways filed for bankruptcy twice during that period and without the merger with America West Airlines would have liquidated.

The new rationalization argument from the West Class is the longevity issues resolved at UAL/CAL do not affect U/AWA since that was not the policy at ALPA in 2005. Fast forward we are now in 2013, two separate contracts, two separate lists, and a Company that now says there is not a contractual combined list on our property (I keep dreaming of actually seeing one of those Section 22 grievance letters. I feel like I am hunting snipe!) First of all, we are not ALPA. In a couple of years, when the litigation ends, USAPA will pursue its DOH path with conditions and restrictions. We have quite a while to work on those issues; meanwhile almost 500 of us will retire in the next 30 months. RR

You forget, or intentionally disregard, that there is not two separate contracts, there are two contracts plus a TA. There is also an already completed section of that same TA involving seniority integration, and the result has been accepted by the company.

Furthermore, the company has not stated that there is no combined list at LCC, quite the contrary. I too would like to see said denial letter, however, the grievance was not over the Nic, the grievance was in the opinion of those who filed, a violation of contract 2004, not of the TA or the Nic list.

If....and I highly doubt they have,,,the company now says they never accepted the Nic, and that they are totally disregarding that it ever happened, I too would like to see the denial letter, particularly who signed it and colluded with the scab union on the company's behalf.

Already have dumbshot.

Let's see one was CAL, and not very happy about the SLI. The other was UAL and said he could not believe the east holes were still as big of ef ups as they were in 2000 only way worse, and stupid enough to think they could get out of binding arbitration by voting in a new union.

Most of the time I never bring up LCC's dirty laundry, but it always seems to come out when the OAL jumpseater says so how things going with the West ans their case against the idiots!

That must have been you No Nic4 I saw in the airport chewing the ear off some Bank America subcontractor for debt. Blathering on about binding and such. You would talk to a support pier about your lost crusade.
The UAL pilots know who saved them. The east pilots took your scheme apart. It was totally dismantled, and now the UAL pilots thank the east pilots for it and blowing ALPA and the Nic away. It saved them.

How many Usair pilots does it take to screw in a light bulb? One, becasuse that is the way we have always done it.
How many PI pilots? 3, one to do the job and 2 to talk about how great the old bulb was.
How many PSA pilots? Nobody knows, they keep calling in sick.
How many AWA pilots? Job never completed, they keep stealing the new bulb for their own use..

Do the math west pilots. Add up loa 93 vs your pay. Do not forget recent upgrades, wide body pay and move to block holder.

Please do not forget to add pbgc 2400/mo.for life after 60. Good luck.

By the way west scabs, thanks for going to all dougs meetings since 2007 and accusing East pilots of slowing down.

You are just a little too long winded in that paragraph. Me thinks a snipe has actually been found. (one of my favorite Cheers episodes, by the way!) RR

Class status recognizes the reality that we have two lists, effectively two separate classes. Each class should be afforded the right to speak on its own behalf, or so I would think. USAPA wants it both ways, separate operations with all of its attendant benefits including the recognition of two separate lists, while at the same time insisting we are all one class when it comes to the issue of DOH. I see a logical disconnect. We never got to joint operations - and that also means we never got to a joint seniority regime. What am I missing?

After about another 18 months of attrition I should be able to hold a secondary WB C/O in PHL. That will be a nice raise, and with the INTL override will be a few more k a month. I want to go out spending my last 6 or 7 years like Bob did, enjoying layovers in Europe. Since the wife works, will try and hold off on the PBGC until 65, but the military retirement will be nice at 61. I look forward to never landing in PHX ever again! RR
