If only they had heeded that advice in 2007. A retiring A330 Captain will have lost nearly $750,000.00 in wages, contract improvements and time off. Now? ZERO. NADA. ZIP. NOTHING. Not even a cheap plastic watch.

Well, he did get DOH for 5 years. Hmmmm.......3/4 of a Million dollars or DOH....

USAPA reminds me that bumbling criminal in this video. The store owner used the video to make a commercial. USAPA gave our guys a lot of material over the years.

Fed Ex pilots tried to tell you. They called it right. Did you listen? Naw..

This is so outta touch. Three FedEx captains, making big bucks and never had ALPA allow a new hire go ahead of a 17 yr pilot at FedEx on the seniority list. If that had happened, they would have been pissed and would have never made this video!

Let's see here: "manners and humility" is elegantly prefaced by "Hey Maroon", and immediately followed with: "Have a great day, Cupcake!"...? 😉 You just can't make this kind of stuff up. 🙂

Any other airline 17 years would have been a captain. They would not have to let them go ahead they would have be equivalent.

Us airways 17 was furloughed or bottom of the SENIORITY list.

Only on the east was 17 years the same as a new hire.

Three FedEx Captains that know the difference between seniority and longevity.

actually the pay rate between a new hire and a bottom 17 pilot is quite different. It comes with paying your dues. Working for something in return. I know you think you should get something without working for it, but that is a rarity in life. Trust me on this one. However, salvation is free for those that want it. Best deal going!

Your attempt to sum up that pilots career at that point in time has failed. That was 2005, years ago. Your ponzi scheme failed. Even your president warned you when you attempted to lecture him disguised as a question. "NO"

No, only in the PHX "brain trust" is a 17 year, never furloughed pilot, the same as a "probie" new hire, with DECADES more career left! Greed, entitlement, impatience and lack of respect for others will not get you very far. My bet is "NIC or nothing" is going to get you more than you deserve in the end and a lot less than you think you actually "deserve"!

What! Three FedEx Captains! Oh my God, all is lost. Maybe we can talk them in to negotiating our upcoming JCBA with the APA for us. We can only wish and hope.

Yeah, three captains that don't know the difference between real life and YouTube.

Do we have any other shining examples of elected reps shining so?

Oversimplification. Not everyone has to be at loggerheads all the time over every issue, dude.
No matter what public stance APA is taking on this now, compromise will ultimately rule the day.
APA wants to avoid inheriting a dfr lawsuit. That has value.
APA wants to get beyond the SLI and onto the next phase - new contract negotiations. That has value.
APA wants (as we all do) to eliminate uncertainty as to how the new seniority list will look. Arbitration adds uncertainty. There is value in avoiding arbitration.
These are excellent reasons to avoid arbitration, and settle on a combined seniority list during the negotiations phase.
The other reason is that eventually all LCC pilots will be paying dues to APA and contributing ideas, energy, and capital towards (hopefully) common goals. That goodwill has value also.
I would not be surprised if the seniority issues are being worked out now.
Cheers.

Yes that all makes sense except did you take into account the fact that any rep who actually decides something has to consider they are risking being blamed, and that affects their re-election attempts.

A lot of us paid our dues outside of HP and were furloughed twice. Desert Storm and 9/11 come to mind.

The arbitors of the America West and Delta Northwest mergers don't agree with you.
