What's new

Back To The New Uniform Thing.

Then why mention their weight in numerous posts?

Gee Bob, you are busted, and once again thought you were not gonna say bad things about unions?

Sorry I am not a full time IAM employee, I work for a living and pay dues.

I've sworn off commentary on the IAM as a result of a PM from someone I respect immensely.

Lets call you PineyBob320 as your word means nothing.

Actually they are there because the FAA says they have to be! Not because the airline gives a damn about safety or customer comfort. Like somebody siad on here once before if it were up to the airlines there would be vending machines in the galleys.

I think I said that. I agree with you PB, but are we getting a bit testy at the end? 😛

Lets be honest here. What's more of a safety issue. A "Big" flight attendant or a "Little" flight attendant trying to rescue a 300lb passenger in an emergency. Though some f/a's could afford to lose a few pounds, maybe they will start to lose some when some of our passengers don't need to put the armrest up to sit comfortably in the next passengers seat.

well, maybe the carbohydrate basket should be switched out for a fruit basket for everyone's sake!

I guess we shouldn't get on the subject of how much the passengers weigh, eh?

i'll get on the scale!

travelpro's comment is very accurate. I sit next to people in FC who are rolling over into my seat. So, maybe that snack basket should be switched out so that no one (pax or F/A's) can snack!! LOL

I want flight attendents to be trained in security, replacing air marshalls, meet fitness requirements and be able to have some amount of physical authority on the plane. They don't have to be male, just fit. Perhaps recruiting from former military would make sence, depending on the labor market. Experience of years in aviation should be valued and rewarded by the corporation, but not necessarily by a position in the air. Perhaps, more senior flight attendents, can be international supervisors or lead attendents or have a career path that takes them to airport centric jobs.

It would be a total coincdence if I were to find some of the above type, kind of, well on the 'hot' side.
