What's new

Back To The New Uniform Thing.

Oh Mark
That's why no one needs to know anyone's name! This society has not earned it nor does it deserve it. They do NOTHING but abuse it. A few psychos spoil everything! I don't think gate agents should have badges either!.....I could never do their job. They are so abused it's just unreal. But with crews it goes one step further....on a strange city in a hotel with no one fimiliar around?....just screams yikes. The general public has lost all civilized manners and thinks they can trample all over everyone. You don't see this in Europe....they have a little tacit about them.

What is this obsession with European Carriers? We need new "professional" uniforms because they have them in Europe. We shouldn't be made to wear name tags because they don't wear them in Europe. Dudes and dudettes......if you are so envious of what they do / have in Europe.....go fly there.

If someone is hell bent on getting your name, they will find a way. On the other hand, if you are being discourteous, rude, obnoxious and I ask for your name and you tell me you don't have to give it to me because of "security", I am going to go through the roof. Give your first name and be done with it.

Great, now we'll have co-workers "going through the roof" and "Finding a way" to get your personal information as well as angry passengers. Further proof, I'd say, that an employee number is quite enough. That's why we have them.

If it's such a big deal, fine, put the employee number on a name bar or wings. Tacky, but if people feel they need to be able to "get" thier crew members, that's as far as it needs to go. Ask me my name and I'll tell you I'm Mary, with Rhoda and Lou assisting in the back.

Just make up a name and be done with it.

I like uniforms that can be wash in the hotel bathroom and drip dry nicely. As a commuter getting to a dry cleaner on the road is not an option. Nothing with linings please.

Does anyone remember the old cream summer uniform? The two piece outfit seemed to fit most and was much more flattering than the present dress. Something like that in navy would be nice.

hey tahitigirl - way to attempt to bring it back around!! how is it that things ALWAYS turn negative? can anyone even confirm the first post to this thread? did ANYONE really receive a letter about new uniforms? are they for F/As only or for CSR/CSAs also?

LOL, oh yeah that dress that u could show movies off the HORSES that wore them...Another ol USair tacky outift!!!!

I have 19 years with the company....I left Customer Serivce 7 years ago. It is my feeling that those that generally don't want to give out there name are the ones that have reason not to. For example, the agent that IS rude and obnoxious prefers not to give their name out of fear that they will get into trouble, not because they will be stalked at home.

I have absolutely no problem with giving my name to someone if they ask, I just prefer not to advertise it. I am not a waitress in a coffeeshop. Although the general public perceives us as unprofessional, glorified waitresses, etc etc, doesnt mean we need to look as such. While I am at it, I do not want to be in shorts and tennis shoes looking as though I am suppose to be stocking shelves. Maybe I am from the old school, but I like dressing professionally. I know I am in the minority on this subject, to each his own.
