Boom Collapsed On A330

The world doesn't stop because someone gets hurt. Not that it isn't important that he/she is ok. But let me ask this you have you posted or read anything in another thread since this happened? Is it ok to get on with posting elsewhere but not to bring up all the issues with this story in this thread? You rant and rave your spin on operations management and how bad PHL is but then basically in a footnote tell everyone to shut up that the primary concern is the injured person.

Well if the boom isn't maintained by USAirways and it was a maintenance/equipment caused accident then mean USAirways couldn't be sued putting oir adding to the final nail in coffin? That pretty important.

Isn't blindly pinning something that happens against the our idea of innocent until proven guilty and due process?

Hopefully the person was not seriously injured!!!! If they are off for any period of time wait until the shock of opening next weeks pay and find out the rate is only 50% for the first week!!!! I would not put it past this company!!!!

It is a glass enclosed little cab that the person sits in to run the boom and deice. It is similar to a tiny cockpit, there is not a shoulder harness or seat belt in the cab.

Employees who regularly post here and are totally negative in their assesment of US Mgmt do more or less the same thing.

Well that could apply to non-employees on here to and also don't forget the concept of conflict of interest which your group would fit nicely in don't you think?

I personally worked on the deice boom mtc. crew in pit. It took almost two full years of operation before usair did any meaningful mtc. on booms. They were in such a state of disrepair booms wern't safe to use

98 PHL-LGW
99 LGW-PHL

It was set up to be flt 894 today PHL-FRA. We'll see if they get it fixed.

My point was the way folks think and how it applies to the legal process. If your comment is referring to FFOCUS having a conflict of interest let me respond to you this way.

Though I had a brief thought of FFocus my main thrust was Pineybob in the non employee (group) posting on issues that I personally think are not your business. Not to bet a dead horse

If I buy a ticket(s) and over a year fly 110,000 miles & 117 segments IMO that earns me a right to comment.
Actually, what earns you a right to comment, in this venue, at least, is having a membership with USaviation.

This is afterall still the USA, despite the Republicrats efforts to the contrary.

Really, that's beside the point. If the people who run this website decide to shut you up, there is nothing in the Constitution precluding them from doing so. Otherwise, the cornfield would have held nothing but stalks of corn.

Specious argument. That is the same as saying that an airline that outsources maintenance can not be sued if shoddy work by the vendor results in an accident.

Back to the most important point...
Does ANYONE know the condition of the injured worker? Tadjr posted on another thread that an inbound pilot said it looked bad and that the incident appeared on some injury list which I assume means that it was a company employee.

If you had ever been in one, you would know that they DO have a seat belt and shoulder harness. I ALWAYS wore mine. It's not the first time a boom went bust.
