Point taken. Now that the topics have been merged, I guess we can talk about both the equipment and the employee.

Broken vertebrae are really bad news for people whose jobs involve a lot of manual labor. I hope for a speedy recovery, and, barring that, for good financial compensation for this OJI.

Why not let him/her speak for themselves? I am quite sure mweiss doesn't need you to make his/her point for them. Besides I already understood what he said and what I said.

If anyone hears of any type of fund or whatever being set up for this employee, please post the info.

Thanks,

Jim

I was told by inflight today that our mechanic is doing well and expected to have a full recovery. Anyone wanting to send get-well cards my deliver them to the international crew room on the A concourse before Monday March 7th.

out of curiousity where was this plane going and why were there only 111 passengers on board a 330. Was it because of the snow and many people did not show up for the flight or ppl connecting to the flight never made it to PHL. I mean the plane was less than 50% full that's not too good.

I was told that the A/C suffered damage to the LH aileron, outboard flap and upper wing surface in the same area. The damage is pretty extensive and will require some serious down time for repair and inspection. Hopefully it will RTS in a timely manner. Also glad the technician is doing well considering what happened to him.

Ouch....

Question for UW or someone else close to the contract changes.

Clearly this was a valid workman's comp claim -- was injury-on-duty pay affected by the reduced sick time, or is that carved out somehow?? What about short term disability?

Depending on the insurance company, most times the sick time and short term will be used up before being paid Workman's Comp. At least that is what happened when my husband was rushed to the emergency room with an injured back 7 years ago. I really hope this person did not suffer a serious back injury, cause God knows he will suffer the rest of his life.

I don't, but he did a fine job reiterating and clarifying my point.

Besides I already understood what he said and what I said.

I figured you did. And you're right, it's bad news for anyone...I certainly didn't mean to imply otherwise. (See? I can agree. 😛)

I have some pictures but don't have a place to post them. Is there a way I can post them in the USaviation gallery?
