BOS-Scotland?

SCOTLAND is close to winning direct flights to Boston, it has emerged.

BAA, which runs Edinburgh and Glasgow airports, is discussing the route with an unnamed United States airline...

========================================================

Gaz,

A question please .

Say say "DIRECT" flights to BOS.

Do you mean "NON-STOP" flights to BOS ?

A "direct" flight to BOS would (hypothetically) mean...GLA-LHR-BOS.(without changing a/c in LHR)

A non-stop flight would obviously mean GLA-BOS(without stoping)

I'm NOT singleing you out, however, this "phrasiology" is a VERY common mistake, made by people associated with the airline industry, who SOULD know this !

Thanx,

NH/BB's

No offense but if you look closer I never said anything of the sort. The direct flights bit is taken from the article.

But yes these flights would be non-stop...

Don't we operate Glasgow as a seasonal station normally?? I seem to remember that this is a normal summer schedule?

ORD-GLA operates for the Summer only with the 763. BAA have been trying for years to get BOS as a destination again after NWA dropped it due to mainly the KLM merger...

GLA-BOS would be a big success, i know more people in Glasgow that have been to Boston than New York and all loved Boston and would go back again.

Regardless, it won't be this year. Summer schedules are locked in.

It was talked about for last summer and this as well. Nothing has happened yet.

Similar to PIA who were rumoured to be wanting to operate GLA-Pakistan for about 10years before at last the flights finally started in October past.
