BTW, if you want proof regarding evolution, look at bacteria. They evolve on at a very quick pace which is why antibiotics must be constantly changed to keep up with the bacteria. I guess if you do not believe in science then looking for info would be a waste of time.

evolve or adapt? do you think it is possible they have something built in that allows them to adapt to different envoronments?

No. A giraffe cannot 'adapt' its neck to be longer. Natural selection will and evolution over all long period of time will weed out those who have shorter necks and only those with longer necks will survive to continue on the species. Those who cannot survive, will die off.

Look at the fossil records. There are very new species that are in the same form that they were a few hundred thousand years ago. Evolution is not something that starts and stops and it is not something that happens over night.

Not everything that has existed has a fossil record. Fossilization requires certain conditions that arent always present when something dies. Fossils we ahave found may only be small drop in the bucket of all species that have existed. So to base your theories on what may be a tiny fraction of what has existed, I believe, requires a great leap of faith.

No faith involved at all. I suspect it is similar to polls. If you interview enough people in a random selection, that can be extrapolated out to encompass the whole with good accuracy.

Given that fossils can be carbon dated with remarkable accuracy and that they are typically laid down in strata that can also be dated.

Go to the library or go on line and research it. The theory of evolution has been proven over and over. The information is out there if you want to look for it. Species do evolve. The earth is over 6 billion years old. Man has evolved over The last several hundred thousand years. Lucy is proof of that.

The evidence it there. The earth is round, we are not the center of the universe and we along with all other animals on the planet have and will continue to evolve. Come back in a few hundred thousand years and I doubt you will recognize man.

They compared the human genome with those of the chimpanzee and macaque, and came up with 510 stretches of DNA that have been conserved in our primate relatives but deleted in humans.
