Do I question his integrity? You're damn right. What was the point of his testimony....failed as it was? How does a conversation with ones daughter (totally unverifiable btw) 30 years prior play into a single substantive aspect into the Addington trial? It doesn't. That's why the jury sent him and first officer what's-his-name back to the Hudson. Do I question his honesty? Sure I do. Quite a convenient little worthless story isn't it? Did it actually EVER happen? Who cares it was entirely useless to the question at hand....obviously. His sincerity? I'm sure that's legit. He was completely sincere when he took the stand to spew forth a pointless, convenient little story that was as relevant to Addington as any other parable. He was sincerely trying to use his new found position to influence an all out seniority theft...just like any Scab does. But, like his choice of carriers, he failed. Miserably. Again.

Does that answer your question?
No, I never expected you to answer my question. I expected you to make my point. You just called Sully a scab.

Do you consider Sully a scab?

Do me a favor everyone, google Sully, then google america west pilot. You will find out about a hero with Sully and drunk pilots with america west within three hits.

I have to wonder how eager dear "Sully" would be for the entire country to understand what he was attempting to do in Addington....he FAILED of course. Every single member of the jury ignored his BS. I have a feeling your average American would be disgusted with both USAPA and dear "Sully" if they knew the truth. If the Addington jury is any indication,...which it is...

What is the LUP again? I see your new signature line...please enlighten. What is the LUP again? Spell it out. Will a jury buy it?

Ummm....yeah...I've no doubt that both the country and 'the rest of world" would come to immediately detest the man if they only knew he was opposed to the west's little nic scheme.....sure thing. Whew! Some of you people truly do live in a very tiny and clinically interesting bubble out there in your little section of Fantasyland. Seriously; is there a psychiatrist in the house?

What mode was the automation in?
ABSTRACT

Today’s modern automated flight control systems employ a variety of different behaviors,

or modes, in order to allow the crew flexibility in operating the aircraft. These modes lay

along a continuum starting from fully-manual to fully-automatic control, with many levels

in between. While developments in cockpit automation resulted in workload reduction

and economical advantages, they also gave rise to a special class of human-machine

problems. These ill defined problems are sometimes referred to as “automation surprises.”

These phenomena usually involve confusion about the status of the autoflight control

system—in particular its modes—and the subsequent behavior of the aircraft. Recently,

there have been five fatal airline accidents involving, in one way or another, this class of

human-machine problems, " I go with this one , the surprise of reality showing up after 5 years of this day will come reality has led to the situational awarness ,AOL has taken my money produced no results, and we are totally screwed! MM

Fifidriver is the stupidest, least informed pilot I have ever seen. Does he even have a concept of what happens when you blindly advance the throttles during a compressor stall, especially with engine damage? Why do you think that advancing throttles to TOGA IS NOT a mandatory part of that procedure? He knew he had hit a flock of geese and took the exactly proper action. You know what? The FAA lauded Sully for his actions, and he won several awards from KNOWLEDGEABLE pilot and industry groups.

Fifi, You're the idiot! Just another example of how out of touch the west group is, and why experience, not windfalls, are the marketable commodity for pilots.

All you PHX boys need to recall your reps, they are really holding all of you back from growth and an increase in pay.

I couldn't believe Wake was so willing to accommodate USAPA with such an obvious stunt. I guess he understood the jury more than "Sully"

Does that answer your question?
He" ACCOMPLISHED" something you are uncapable of doing and he endorsed a cultural generation, void of PHXTASYLAND'S ever understanding! MM!

Oh Luv so transparent. Never an original thought in your tiny little head.

Your precious CLT reps are being recalled so the only thing you can think of is the same thing. Recall the PHX reps.

Well son after the squirming and panty wetting by the east reps at the last BPR meeting over those resolutions I would say our boys are doing just fine. It is the east reps and angry east F/O's that are holding back this ENTIRE pilot group from getting a new contract.

But not to worry. The end should be very soon for usapa and the failed experiment of allowing the most radical and angry people to run a union.

"squirming and panty wetting" ? Well do they need a dose of VASINelino, too!, pleez your transparence is showing, let us guess a 2004 hire wanting to throw everone around you under the bus and getting them to pay for it, word up, your toast! MM

I don't consider Sully a scab. But what he did that day any of us could have done. The flight controls of the aircraft were still working and he have full control. Did he make the right decision to go in the Hudson? It worked out. Did he make the right decision not to go to TOGO? Who knows. Except from the beginning of training we are all taught that if the aircraft is sinking and you can't stop it you ADD power. Would it have made a difference? Who knows.

Is Sully a hero? That is for others to decide. Was Sully lucky with all if the factors of that accident? Absolutely.

My problem is not with Sully and what he did that day. He reacted.

My problem and I think what the west's problem with Sully are his decisions AFTER the accident. He made a conscious and deliberate decision to get on that witness stand and tell that BS story. Sully added nothing to the Addington trial. There was no logical reason for either Sully or Skiles to take part in that DFR trial. They added nothing and the judge and jury saw it for what it was. Celebrity flash to distract from the case.

Sully had embarrassed himself by the time he got off the stand. I was there that day. The jury did not react favorable. When Sully got off the stand he left the court room immediately, and the usapa lawyers all went running after him because he knew that trying to help usapa had cost him credibility.

If you don't believe me ask around. After that trail did Sully ever do anything for usapa after that? Anything! After the Addington trial Sully would not even return phone calls to usapa. One of the reps told me that whenever usapa would get in a bind the east reps would say "let's call Sully" The response from Cleary was "Sully is not returning our phone calls, his people say he is to busy".

Skiles was even worse. He had no reason to be in that court. He appeared to be the angry F/O wanting more than he got. He was proven to be untrustworthy. One of the first things he said was that with the Nicolau he was not going to be a captain. Yet it was proven that at the time he could have held captain in DCA or another base. The jury saw Skiles for what he was.

Neither of them should have been in that court room. What those two did AFTER is the problem the west has with them.

As far as experience flying the airbus. You better check your history. The west has been flying airbus longer then you guys. The west is more experienced. Also most learned when we had to know something about the airplane. Not this AQP comic book version of training.

🙂 OK.

Let's wait and see what Hummel has to say when he returns from the DFW meeting before you start declaring who is toast.
