Seniority means something, longevity means less.

You're about to learn the difference.
Funny, but your view is an EXTREME minority view. The courts and congress on all levels both use longevity based seniority determining position. There's a good reason for that. Your definition of seniority cuts across the grain of logic and safety.

If it means nothing, then the new hires should be made Captains and you can stay as F/O.

My "Extreme minority view" was used in four of the last four pilot seniority arbitrations.

You'll find the cases right next to USAPA's DOH seniority list.

A Christian human being, son, brother, husband, friend and all around good guy that happens to fly airplanes for a living.

But if you want to define yourself by what you do that is a sad statement about your life.

Captain at a major airline does not make you better than any other pilot whether that pilot is an F/O or a commuter pilot military or corporate. So very arrogant of you to think of yourself as better.

No wonder this dispute has gone on so long. That fourth stripe, emotion and ego over ride logic.

Get off the board and find a life. Because you are not going to be happy about the outcome of this merger. You will be lucky to continue to be a reserve captain at a major airline for the rest of your career.
