Delta Labor Relations thread.

Well I'm very happy that the company has never done anything to you in 25 years that has made you unhappy. You're one of the great ones that can understand and have sympathy for the corporate dilemma when adjustments needed to be made to your work rules and conditions. Excellent. You're a good little corporate soldier.

To hell with all those Ready Reserves on the ramp too right? If they complain they're just ungrateful little troglodytes who can't appreciate the blessings they've been given to work for Delta Airways. Just a bunch of little jerks right?
Unequal pay for the same work is dispiritng....

Unethical and immoral as well. But as long as someone else is benefiting from their misery who cares.

I got me mine.

I have and will only continue to speak about my experience with Delta Inflight.
Nor will I listen to anything someone from AA who trolls the Delta boards have to say.
Your pent up anger speaks volumes.  Good luck in life.. Seems as
though you need all the help you can get.

I'm taking self prescribed medication for that. Thank you.

I have to agree with you here.

Good for you. You don't own everyone else's situation and can only do so much.

While I am a supporter of the CBA, I am not an idiot. I manage a union workforce and support their rights. I am also a reasonable person who understands the give and take that is necessary in any LMR situation.

True but I do have to wonder how many of them and for how long they're "maybe" strung along and promised that they'll eventually be off the RR and be a full time, full fledged, full benefited employee of the airline?

How long does the horse continue to plow when it's trying to reach that carrot on a stick?

Quags I'm far from an angry person I hope you know.

And again the pills do help though.

Thought this was the generation of not staying at one employer for a lifetime!
And once again, as far as I know, no one is forcing these people to not look for employment elsewhere!

So petey why did the DOL only file a civil complaint and not criminal?

Come and answer buttercup.

Southwind I think you misconstrue that I think you work for a horrible company? I know that's far from the truth. Your pay for many is very good and the PS checks you just received have me boiling in envy. I don't think you have great medical benefits though.

But with the RR system you do have a class warfare situation going on and your ramp workers are seeing that grow. You're not ramp so it doesn't affect you.

My guess is these guys hire on as RR and see the guys like Kev who make far more than them and believe they also have a road to get there? Do they? What guarantee do they have to improve? Are they being told they'll get there also and maybe that's just smoke blowing? They have no "Employment Contract" so they have nothing to tell them when or if that's going to happen?

In 1995 at AA we agreed to the Junior Fleet service program. It was a horrible agreement for new hires. The top out on that after 10 years was a little over $10 per hour. I called it the "No Hope" contract. The difference though was that our new hires were given a contract book that told them there were no guarantees for their future with the company. Many more than can be counted quit when they were given that contract book. But again there it was in black and white what they would be making so they weren't enticed to continue on like a horse going for that carrot. It incentivized them to move on and look for something else.

In 2001 we negotiated and voted out the Jr Fleet program. Every Ramper at AA comes in on the same scale and has the ability over time to make what I make, guaranteed by contract.
