Did everyone leave?

nope. 2020 was just fine for me. I'm not bitter and angry at all. I do find it laughable how little you know about your own airlines, contract and apparently basic math. Which is fine (i mean, its not, you really should educate yourself, not just for you but for airline industry employees every where. Maybe even help educate them on the absolute screw job the TWU/IAM is running and make actual positive change)

and you are going to listen to Doug, not a bad idea if you take into other factors. I listen to all the CEOs. I also have the education and intelligence to look at things like earnings, balances sheets, costs etc etc. Here is the cool thing about math, you can try to spin it as much as you want, but 2+2=4. Every time. Yesterday, tomorrow, today, forever.

and American's balance sheet is atrocious. Almost every performance number (both operationally and financially) are also atrocious as well.

PS, what no commit on Delta getting ready to have yet another next gen engine in-house but yet American is gearing up to outsource every next gen engine they have? Or are you going to just post more random negative **** about AMFA while acting like the TWU/IAM/IBT etc haven't done anything wrong ever with money.

Far from it, but i clearly do know a lot more about it than either of you.

uhhhh. again. You are struggling with how basic percentages and positive/negative numbers sooooo. Might wanna settle down glass house.

So you are smarter than other people in certain areas or you are very confident in yourself. Congratulations for you. Maybe I’m not interested in your subjects or just not interested in arguing any of them here? Maybe I’m glad you work for an Airline you’re happy with? Maybe I’m also happy with mine. Maybe I do know about revenue, good debt, bad debt, capital expenditures, assets and cash on hand but again am not looking to delve into it with you.

I remember that guy that used to be on here and annoy everyone with how great he thought Delta was. Delta could do no wrong even when they did do a few things wrong here and there. Thankfully I forgot his handle but I guess you’re taking over for him now?

Congratulations that Delta is better than everyone and you have a seat at the table. I really don’t care honestly.

BTW dawg the facts of what I was talking about still don’t change. Delta screwed you in 2020. Delta got money from the Government payroll support program and still cut your hours down by 25%. No matter how you feel about that today you still had no say in what they decided to do to you.

Long term maybe you will make more money working for Delta than your counterparts at AA will over your career since Delta has way less overall employees and makes today more profit but you still have to live with what Delta did to you in 2020 and can do to you again any time they want. Also don’t forget you were making much less though for a few years after your 2005 Bankruptcy but again we all take/took hits over our 30 to 35 year careers.

Congratulations on the 4% raise too BTW. I really am glad that Delta brought you back up to what we make at AA. Too bad you couldn’t get a raise in 2020 and 2021 like we still did though.

It's cute how you are playing the victim card now.

maybe so. You depth of knowledge is pretty comparable to 700 and you are certain a "my union can do no wrong" kind of person, so I guess that it the roll you are taking?

*spends the entire thread pissing and moaning about what other airlines and other unions do*

something tells me you'd be just thrilled to start ripping on swamt again.

So in reality you love what other airlines do, as long as it is bad for those employees. As soon as someone brings out the positives over your **** contract is "well I dont want to talk about that"
just look below. "DeLtA sCrEwEd YoU". Nope. I could have walked at any time. I could have started a card drive at anytime. You know why it didn't happen? because im start enough to want to do everything possible not to send the company back into bankruptcy. Unfortunately with all the stupid **** your union and United's union have done, it is almost certain creditors would want Delta to outsource on your level, screwing me over. Quite literally the same thing that happened the last time Delta went bankrupt. (well it was to appease creditors and the unionized pilots, but cost savings for all the outsourcings was ~ 8 million dollars a year in savings. "But United did it. But USair did it. But American is going to do it"

again, doing what the company did to survive, in the short term, doesn't hurt my feelings. It was more important to me that Delta didn't lay anyone off. I am smart enough to know that a profitable company is better off for me and sometimes its short term losses for long term gains.
on that note, can American say the same?

That empowered worker mindset bothers a lot of people in old guard unions. The crab-in-a-bucket mentality is everywhere. You can leave, and they feel stuck, so it's easier to just throw rocks.

No one’s “left” at my Airline. And you never “left” either. You “lost” yours because you didn’t have the fortitude to convince Delta workers it was worth keeping. You were weak.

I heard all kinds of stuff when I was leaving.

In my experience the people most dependent on a company are also the loudest. It's performative.
I hope you guys are talking about good things being said, but something tells me not. All I know when someone announces they ARE retiring, or they are now working towards first of year or a certain date to retire, we actually congrat them and throw them a party from the crew. For most guys they are retiring early and deserve to be praised for being able to set themselves up nicely enough to retire early. (by early I mean earlier than most think everyone should retire 65-70+)
Kev is right, too many depend on the co., or the gov to save them and that's why most of those thinkers won't retire until at least they get full retirement pay out of SS @say 67+ and that is just too sad. I have watched a many guys retire after age for max (say 66-70+) only to hear them say I should have went way earlier and watched some of them only live a very, very short retirement when bad health or even death arrived way sooner than planned. Hopefully I can set myself up for an early retirement to leave work at 10 years prior to max SS pay out at 67-68. Shooting for age 55 but realizing more like 58ish and hopefully not pass 60ish. And of course all this also depends on nothing major happening within our industry or our country (wars and such) Good to everyone out there and congrats if ya can get yourself out of the work life as early as possible, Lord knows I am trying...

That concept is totally foreign to socialist hacks like WeAAsles and Bears.

They think it is someone else's job to take care of them. They're ENTITLED to it after all.

Congratulations on making Kev's point. 😂

I pulled the E handle when a voluntary separation was offered. I was told I was making a mistake, another coworker was all over me to go to the Union president and 'beg' him to get management to change my request.

Only one guy put it into perspective, he said "Had enough?". He left too.

One of the best moves I ever made.....not one regret.

Tell you another story. One friend sent in his VolSep paperwork to leave, lived in NY state, old mother. Foreman forgot to send in the paperwork and went past the deadline and was afraid to send it in late, fear of retribution. My friend was beside himself. If anybody wanted out, it was him. At the time, on this forum, high ranking and I mean high, members of management were on here feeling out the rank and file over all kinds of issues. One was supposedly Dave Siegel.....Flyonthewall. So I reached out to this person, explained the whole situation to them, I also mentioned the foreman and asked he not be sanctioned.

I tell you what, my friend now lives in New York and If I ever made only one person happy in life, it was him.
