Seniority??? HA! Your lucky to have a job! Now you want seniority!!![:0]

actually, we all are lucky to have a job. That is, those that have them weather they are AA or former TWA.

An Arbitrator was to make a Ruling/Clarification on the Mediators decision. There where some issues on RIF. This was to be made anytime AFTER the 20th of August.

The TWU website has a letter stating that Mr. Kasher is committed to have the awards ready by the close of business Tuesday, August 27th. You know you can't just pull these things out of your a$$. It takes a lot of time to make up these jacked up awards.

Take a look in the Directors Update portion of the TWU website. You should find it. Just like Bags said, Kasher says he will rule by close of business on the 27th.

I predict that Kasher will again go out of his way on this award to protect the IAM's interest. So the rumor about LLCer's on the East coast getting 25% will probably come true. West coast also I would think. Screw the TWU contract, they can always "interpret" their way around it anyway.

Rumor?
What rumor? At JFK, LLCers already received 25% occupational seniority. Ther DRC is hearing the following disputes:

Seniority Integration Issues

7/11/02

The following is a Status report on issues that were presented today at the Dispute Resolution Committee in accordance with the April 29, 2002 Seniority Integration Decision by Mr. Richard Kasher.

Dispute #1: Whether MCI terminal for AMTs is considered an Outstation subject to the 25% seniority credit or part of the MCI overhaul base, which is subject to 100% seniority Credit?

Pending written decision.

Dispute #2: How should temporary FT/PT Fleet Service Clerk jobs be applied under the terms and conditions of the Award?

Unresolved: Set aside pending additional information

Dispute #3:In what order are AA AMTs with recall to STL and former TWA LLC AMTs with recall to STL recalled to vacancies?

Pending written decision.

Dispute #4: What is the meaning of the phrase in the Decision, "as of April 9, 2001", as it relates to determining whether a particular station meets the 10% threshold of ASMs?

Pending Mr. Kasher’s written decision.

Dispute #5: For what purposes may a TWA employee exercise his occupational seniority whether it is 25% or 100%?

Unresolved: Set aside pending additional information

Dispute #6: Whether in order to qualify as a station at which TWA employees get 25% seniority, the station must meet not only the 10% ASM threshold but must, as of April 10, 2001, have been a station staffed by TWA with IAM-represented employees?

Unresolved: Set aside pending additional information

Dispute #7: To what extent is there a difference in how a TWA employee can exercise his seniority during the "Initial implementation" and after the "initial implementation"? Either during the initial implementation or subsequently can a TWA employee exercise his seniority in a RIF if it adversely affects an American employee?

Unresolved: Set aside pending additional information

Dispute #8: Whether a TWA LLC employee is prohibited from exercising 25% of his seniority in LAX until all American employees are recalled not only to LAX, but also to Burbank and Ontario, both of which American no longer staffs. Same issue exists for JFK, which, like LAX, is a multi-airport location.

Pending Mr. Kasher’s written decision.

Dispute #9: Whether American is furloughing TWA employees and either simultaneously, or a few days later recalling an American employee to the same type of position (e.g. full-time previously held by the now-furloughed TWA employee.

Unresolved: Set aside pending additional information

Dispute #10: In the case where American lays off TWA employees from their full-time position and at the same time part-time openings are made available, do these TWA employees have a right to hold the part-time position over an American employee who is currently furloughed.

Unresolved: Set aside pending additional information

Dispute #11: Once all American employees and TWA employees have exercised their recall rights to a particular station and a vacancy becomes available at that station, what amount of occupational seniority can a TWA employee use when bidding for that position.

Pending written decision.

Dispute #12: Whether American is replacing probationary employees with TWA employees?

Pending Mr. Kasher’s written decision.

Dispute #13: Have TWA employees been permitted to bump American employees who are on probation or were hired after March 1, 2001?

Pending written decision.

Dispute # 14: Should a surplus former TWA-LLC employee at the Tulsa line (terminal) have the ability to fill a vacancy at the Tulsa maintenance Base? While there are AA employees with recall rights to the maintenance base?

Pending written decision.

Dispute # 15: As a result of the number of jobs brought forward by the TWA-LLC operation a certain number of former TWA-LLC employees were not guaranteed jobs. As future vacancies become available who would be awarded the position.

Pending written decision.

EXAMPLE #1. APRIL - 10 - 01 CITY

Seniority Status

TWA PART TIME 4 -10 - 01 LAID OFF FULLTIME

AA PART TIME 2 - 1 - 85 TRANSFER ON FILE TO FULL TIME

Who would be awarded the next full time position?

EXAMPLE # 2. 25 % CITY

Seniority Status

TWA PART TIME 4 -02 -98 LAID OFF FULL TIME

AA PART TIME 2 - 1 - 00 TRANSFER ON FILE TO FULL TIME

who would be awarded the next Full-Time position?

Fleet Service:

In Maintenance, the 10 LLCers with between 66 and 68 seniority were all give 1992 seniority, give or take a month or two here and there. Comes to roughly 25% of company time

BT, as of right now the former LLC guys in Cargo still have 4/10/01.Although judging by the reactions of a lot of our people (P/T'ers Especially) it would appear the announcement of the implementation of the 25% is forthcoming.

I suppose this means we can look forward to endless flame wars.[:knockout:]

I understand Mr. Kasher issued his ruling on the 15 outstanding issues. Does anyone have a copy of the ruling, and if so, could you post it?

Thanks

Senor Pelon,
Kasher has not issued an written opinion. Look for it on the close of business Friday.
