I know this sounds really stupid. But can someone explain exactly what the numbers on the ETC mean? I know the AC# means the total number of seats on the aircraft. From what I've been told the AU# is the amount of seats that can be sold. My question is about the SA#, is it the amount of seats available or the amount of seats available still for sale? I've been told both, which is correct? Thanks.

It is my understanding that it is seats available. Technically they are still "for sale" yet it tells you how many are open so you can figure out how close the flight is for non-reving.

This is something I have tried to figure out before. AC is actual seats on the aircraft, and AU is the authorized number that can be sold. SA is seats available true, but available from which number? Example

Lets say its a 100 seat aircraft (humm new fleet type coming? 🙂 ) authorized to sell 110 with 5 still available:

AC = 100
AU = 110
SA = 5

We know the AC has 100 seats and the're authorized to sell 110 seats. Is the 5 seats available 5 or really 15?

If they have sold 95 seats, there are 5 actually left but they can sell 15 more.

If they sold 105 seats they are minus 5 actual seats but can still sell 5 more.

I wonder how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop....

The correct answer is..... there are 5 actually left but they can sell 15 more.

If I remember correctly from the owl in the commercial....1 lick..2 licks...CRUNCH...3....the answer is 3!

The last time I checked it out at work it was to actual, anything sold more than actual just showed 0. Anything left to capacity showed 1/2, etc.

It would be so very nice to even be able to SEE that information.... 🙁
What in the world is the problem with the ETC?
It takes days and numerous attempts to access the site.
Employee travel is a wonderful priviledge, if you can book it :huh:
