Part of the problem with this "airline" is that far too many employees have a 'thats not my job' mentality. Instead, these same employees will sit down and wait right next to something that needs to be done which they could do but choose not to because well, thats not their job.

This is most apparent in our hub cities; PHL, CLT, and PHX. Its also apparent elsewhere, but it is the worst in the hubs.

Its not just ground, the gates and flight crews all do it too. 'Not my job' is part of the USAirways culture, and if that would change system-wide we'd be running one hell of an operation.

Problem is, no employee wants to be the first one to change, so its not going to happen.

Apparently you dont understand union contracts and scope language, also if an employee gets injured doing a task at work that is not their job, the company will not cover the injury under Workers Comp

The union contracts I can't speak for but your statement about work comp is absolutely not true. If an employee was assigned or asked to perfrom a duty (even if it wasn't in their "job description") they would be covered by work comp.
Now would the company want, say a pilot, handling bags? No, because if the pilot were to injure themself, they would "lose" a highly paid (and not easily replaceable) employee, while a ramp worker could be replaced more easily. Harsh, but it comes down to the numbers.

Your completely wrong, in North Carolina if you are doing a job that is not in your description you will not be covered.

I assure you 700 with the Dems in power now you would be covered as long as you are on company property. Maybe not on the first shot but definitely on appeal!

Workers Comp hasnt changed in NC, the lady in charge of it is a republican
