Question for everyone who says send it back , they will offer something better ...

What will you do if they don't ?
If this contract gets in, many out west won't have to worry about what to do. Most of you will be laid off since you are willing to give up the one thing that Hemenway wants from you....the best protections in the industry. I'm talking about the 19 stations and most of PHX and LAS. Keep believing NG when he tells you there has to be job openings. Read the east contract, PHX, what will be left of it will end up PHL west. You'll just be keeping the tug seats warm for us.

Most of you are young whippersnappers who just don't know. Ask your PSA friends what happened when they gave up their language? They closed them all down. Each and every station they closed. Ask Piedmont what happened to all those stations when we gave up our 1999 protections? Every single one of them is gone. In each case, the union bosses told us 'not to worry' cuz you bee fine!

Whether United or American, if the west gives up their scope, most likely over 2,000 of you out of 2,500 will be gone in a couple years due to a merger. Bottom line.

OTOH, the $19 bucks has never left the table since September. It will be there even after a no vote if we want it. What we want is fairness. Being Laden with the worst vacation and sick pay in the industry needs to be fixed and making significantly less than the middle of the pack also needs some fixing up to do. It's called negotiations and so far we haven't negotiated squat. Randy has sent mixed signals to the company and only has United on his mind. We positioned the District leadership to change and this should happen in June. We have to get rid of the Canale deadweight and his goofballs in order to move forward. Then we will be in better position to negotiate.

Regardless, this rag has to be voted down because it is deplorable. I mean really deplorable, it's the worst of everything in the industry but it has the best union boss positive space in the industry.

I am now up to 6 potential suspensions in just the last few pages of this thread.

Here's the deal. The next personal insult or attack aimed at ANY other poster gets the poster 7 days and gets this thread shut down for the remainder of the cycle and we will not permit another thread for IAM fleet until the next cycle starts on the 18th. Anyone starting a replacement thread will also get 7 days if we shut this one.

You may NOT call another poster a liar. You may dispute the information, but you may not accuse the poster of lying.

Enough is enough. It stops now or it just stops....the choice is yours folks.

NO PERSONAL INSULTS OR ATTACKS--PERIOD. Those are the rules. Observe them or don't post... PERIOD.

Out of curiosity,

Has MR or NG told you westies that you won't even be vested in the IAM pension plan unless you can hang on for 5 years? or did they forget to mention that little fact?

The IAM been pocketing alot from the east siders who end up quitting after a few years. It's pretty simple. Company hires new hire. Company pays the IAM the new hires retirement. New hire quits in 3 years. IAM keeps new hires money.

This is misinformation once again, the IAMNPF fund is a totally seperate entity from the IAM and it run by management and IAM selected director and trustees. (EDITED BY MODERATOR)

The money doesnt go to the IAM.

United, Continental May Be Next Merger, Analysts Say

Could you show me the IAM by law that states that. I just would like to see who is right.

Sorry a little I've already be burned by the teamsters pensio, would like to see that not happen again.

Know the past and predict the future.

For your infomation I did not vote to have 2 pay scales. I went thru that at Piedmont.
It sucked than and still does.
I have stated before on here that I voted down this POS even than knowing that it might mean something worse. I also voted to strike. I doubt many here can say that.

You dont vote to strike on a transition agreement, only in section 6 negotiations would you be voting on a strike.

You know I just thought of something for you O man. See this your chance to right that wrong when the guys voted for the 2 pay scales back than.
Just a thought.

I'm betting that 90% of the people here voted to strike. If you didn't care about the future you wouldn't be here. So, so many people have allowed others to tell them what to think. The people here want the facts, good or bad, agree or disagree.

Looks like Tim is having problems with the truth again and resorted to scare tactics without merit.

Under the TA Agreement, Page 12, Under "IAM FLEET SENIORITY INTEGRATION PROCEDURE, Section 2:

"The Company and the Union agree on an integrated seniority list provided it results in no 'system flush' whereby an active Fleet Service Employee may displace any other active Fleet Service Employee from the latter’s position; and furloughed Fleet Service Employees may not bump/displace active Fleet Service Employees; and does not contain conditions and restrictions that materially increase costs associated with training or company paid moves."

I'll keep that tug warm for myself.

Strange how I am accused of scare tactics, at least, I have strong reasons based upon the comments of Boss Canale and the current contract referring to the requirement of 56 mainline flights per week in those 18 stations. If you really wanted to save those jobs in those 18 stations, then you would vote in favor of this TA, but that's not what this is about, is it? It is an ersatz sincerity to push for better pay and benefits under the cloak of compassion.

I'll say it again to all those Westies who are against this TA: The East doesn't care about you and either does the IAM, you better take the best deal you can get now along with a large pay raise instead of waiting 4 more years at a substandard wage and being sold down the river later to the benefit of East.

So Figures Jester.
