I found out that Candi Covelli passed away today.

I don't know how or why, but from my understanding she was scheduled in CLT today to prepare and assist an MEC grievance. She is survived by her Daughter Ashley who graduated from Penn State a couple years ago and is a teacher in Pheonix.

When I was in the union, she was my right and left arm, on the local and MEC level. She organized everything that we planned and scheduled. She went on to become not only the Assistant to the MEC Grievance Chair, but also the Local Sec/Treas in PIT in my second term. In those years, we spent most of my union working hours together. She was a jewel, and was one of those special people that I really missed when I left U. She was a great union rep and a special friend. I will miss her and am so very sad now.

May she rest in the arms of the Lord.

Thanks for posting this. I just talked to her last week about planning the PIT reunion party in May. Little did I know it would be the last time we would speak. I know a lot of us will be in shock for a long time. Candi was the best. She never met a stranger and fought hard for each and every flight attendant while she gave tirelessly of herself. God's peace to you Candi. You will be TRULY missed.

I am simply stunned to hear of her passing. She will be missed by her family, friends and coworkers alike. May she rest in peace.

I am shocked and saddened to hear of her passing. She was a strong advocate for flight attendants. I will never forget her. Thank you Candi. Rest in peace.

Wow I am stunned, she was always so nice on the phone when I called to talk to you Pitbull, my sypmathies to the family.

I'm shocked and saddened to hear about this.

Candi epitomized her profession. She also epitomized what a union member and union volunteer is. Unselfish and truly caring for her passengers as well as her fellow professionals. If we all had her heart and her perspective we would be much better for it. I will miss her.

She was one of the rare individuals who loved union work. She loved the profession and it showed in her actions and her passion to follow through on every issue that came up. As the years went on, she became more of an expert on the issues of the contract and could argue with the best of them... I adored the girl.

I am so sorry to hear about Candi. I worked with her doing Union stuff and she was such a pleasure to deal with. She always went out of her way to be kind to me and she had such a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her and a hole that can't be filled will be left by her unexpected passing.

My thoughts and prayers go to her family and friends. 🙁

I too worked with her doing union work and hung at the pool with her on a few Vegas overnights. She was a great person to talk to.
She will be sadly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her daughter, family and friends.

I too had the pleasure to work with her on the Safety Committee in PIT during the 90's. We shared the committee as co-chairs. She had the unique ability to look beyond what was in front of her and look at the big picture. She was and always will be an inspiration to me. As a union rep, there was non better. She ALWAYS put the profession first. My thoughts and prayers go to Ashley, and her family....

We lost a great one....

God Speed... Candi...

Candi was a total class act and she was a huge advocate for every flight attendant. She will be sorely missed. This is very sad news.

Has anyone heard of any funeral arrangments? If so, please send me a PM...
Thanks...
