Of the 1200 subject to furlough...

728 jobs are saved.

Of the 472 remaining...

244 will be on temporary furlough for Oct. and Nov., but will return to work 01DEC at their current base.

The 228 most junior will go on regular involuntary furlough for an undetermined time--i.e., they may or may not be recalled ever.

Congratulations to my friends and colleagues that were not furloughed and for those that were...hope you are back by the Spring.

The SLT base roster on the website is current through 8/14/09. Based on the information there, the 17 most junior f/as (unfortunately, all former TW) will go on indefinite furlough. The next 5 up the list are on the 2 month furlough--1 or 2 of those are former TW, I forgot to write down the exact number. (Went back and looked again. Only 1 of the 2 month furloughs is former TW.)

Update: Got these numbers from someone at the union...

The indefinite furloughs by base:
Bos - 25
DCA - 14
LGA - 105
ORD - 67
STL - 17

The involuntary furloughs range from 16226 to 16471. Everyone 16472 and lower will be on indefinite furlough (not as ominous as it sounds, it just means no return date has been set).

Jim makes it by just over 100 numbers.

How did you come out on this?

Comparing a furlough to "ethnic cleansing" is highly inappropriate. You denigrate the millions of humans who have been murdered. Not a job loss. Murdered.
Betcha

Thanks for saying it first

I proffered for and was awarded the "modified partnership flying." I had proffered in the hope that if the mitigations got down to me, I might be able to save a job of someone junior to me. Now, I can get in some early season skiing in 1st two weeks of December when it's cheaper. YEAH!

Very, very glad for those who were able to retire early and for those whose jobs were saved. The headline number was a big one so it was good to see it down in the 200 range by the end.
